KATANA SKILLS INFO DUMP

    Alright time to start.
    Some basic stuff about katana:-
    Atk gain:-
    2.5*Dex + 1.5*Str
    Stability gain:-
    0.025*Dex + 0.075*Str

    --Pulling the D(touch) pad in any direction after completing an auto attack and a few skills will let you do a slide dodge.
    The skills after which the slide is possible are:-
    ---Pulse Blade
    ---Hasso Happa
    (Note:- If in a combo pulse and hasso need to not have any skills after them to be able to allow the slide)

    Now before covering the main attacking skills lets cover the passive and buff skills first as it seems all of them are no limit (usable by any weapon)

    Lvl1 Bushido (Passive)

    Passive skill same as the "mastery" skills on the other trees except it also gives a small amount of HP, MP and Accuracy as no limit.
    Buffs
    For katana the skill gives:
    (Weapon Atk+3%)*SkillLvl
    Atk+1%(SkillLvl1-4) Atk+2%(SkillLvl5-7) Atk+3%(SkillLvl8-10)
    (HP+10)*SkillLvl
    (MP+10)*SkillLvl
    (Accuracy+1)*SkillLvl
    For non katana weapons Atk+% and WeaponAtk+% is not applied but rest are applied as the same:
    So for katana it gives Atk+3%, WeaponAtk+30%, HP+100, MP+100, Accuracy+10 at lvl10 while for others it gives HP+100, MP+100, Accuracy+10 at lvl10

    Lvl1 Two Handed (Passive)

    Arguably the most op passive skill in game. It largely increases Atk right before the calculation of critical hits if you do not have a sub weapon equipped.
    It also increases Accuracy%, CriticalRate and Stability.
    For katana:-
    WeaponATK +SkillLvl%
    TotalAtk+5*SkillLvl% (Applied on critical hits only)
    Accuracy+SkillLvl%
    Critical+SkillLvl
    Stability+SkillLvl%
    For non katana weapons the amount of critical rate and stability is halved and the totalATK buff is NOT APPLIED. The accuracy and weaponATK bonuses remain the same.
    So for katana at lvl10 it gives TotalAtk+50%, Critical+10, Accuracy+10%, Stability+10%, WeaponATK+10% while for others it gives Critical+5, Accuracy+10%, Stability+5%, WeaponATK+10% at lvl10
    On the second page it says Critical Rate*2 for katana that does not mean your crit rate is doubled with this skill, that only means it gives twice the critical given to other weapons that is 2x of critical+5 = critical+10

    NOTE:- TotalAtk is the +% of your (as it name says) TOTAL ATK Including all ths buffs like war cry and potions like power candy.
    The ATK increase is only applied on the damage calculation of critical hits so the increase is not visible on your status screen.

    EDIT: I JUST CONFIRMED THAT THE TOTALATK BONUS DOES NOT WORK FOR ALL WEAPONS IT ONLY APPLIES TO KATANA. REFRAIN FROM GETTING THIS SKILL IF YOU ARE HOPING FOR THAT ATK BUFF
    Since no one is believing when I keep saying it is TotalATK on CRITICAL HITS and not TotalCDMG

    This is the code for ATK calculation.
    There is iscritical tag in the middle which is the calculation for Two Handed (Known as "Weapon in both hands" in the code. Try to understand that if you can.

    It is total ATK boost including +ATK flat and +ATK% boosts like war cry and potions.
    It is NOT +50% TotalDamage on critical hits or TotalCriticalDamage like the one coryn has. I dont blame cruithne it would be difficult to program ATK boost just for critical HITs (would have to add different options) she went with +50% total Critical damage coz it was easier to implment. Also if tested with auto attacks on weak mobs TotalATK+50% and TotalCDMG+50% got no difference at all.
    Dont even consider the description they are there just to fool you.

    The biggest question tho:-
    Whats the difference:-
    As I said before If you consider weak mobs with near to 0def and you are using auto attacks TotalATK+50% and TotalCDMG+50% makes no difference at all.
    Tho there are other flat variables that make difference:-
    1.)Skill Constant
    2.)Enemy DEF
    If the skill constant of the skill you are using is higher than the enemy DEF totalCDMG bonus gets higher output damage than totalATK
    If the skill constant of the skill you are using is lower than the enemy DEF totalATK bonus gets higher output damage than totalCDMG.
    This is very good imo coz if it didnt katana would be doing very low like 1-10k damage with zantei on nm/ulti bosses like ico/york whose def gets very high.

    Lvl2 Meikyo Shisui (Support skill)
    MP cost = 200MP

    A buff to increase crit rate at the cost of def/mdef. Honestly not a big fan of it as it was drastically changed or you can say nerfed.
    (Critical+20 +2*SkillLvl) (Critical+40 at lvl10)
    For 10 + 2*SkillLvl seconds. (30sec at lvl10)
    At the cost of -(11 - SkillLvl)*100 Def and Mdef (-100 def and mdef at lvl10)
    Also reduces Critical Damage by (15 - SkillLvl)% (Cdmg-5% at lvl10)

    For Katana:-
    Get additional Critical+25 (+65 at lvl10)
    The duration is doubled (60sec at lvl10)
    CritDamage reduction is removed.

    Edit: The crit buff will get consumed on the next skill doesnt matter if it was support or impact, there is just no way to make the crit buff passable to the next to next skill or add some sort of filler between the dps skill and shisui.
    Untill you use a skill it will also apply crit on your auto attacks tho still the fact remains that this skill is not usable well with zantei.

    Animation wise the skill is exactly the same as war cry

    Lvl3 Shukuchi (passive)

    Allows the ability to dash when using an autoattack if the distance between you and enemy is far from your weapon range.
    Also at lvl10 gives an INSANE AMPR+50 BONUS TO KATANA ON THE FIRST AUTO ATTACK AFTER DASH.
    Not sure about ampr bonus on other lvls. For non katana weapons the ampr seems to be halved +25 at lvl10.
    It also increase the auto attack damage by 50% at lvl10 and changes its category to unsheathe.
    Edit:- For katana all auto attacks are categorized as unsheathe but for other weapons only the auto attack after dashing is classified as unsheathe.
    Another bad news is that the +50AMPR is only applied to katana if it was a main weapon not on sub weapon so RIP bow + katana.
    Also apparently the skill is bugged? as in dashing mid combo cancels the combo tags of the skills at returns their original mp cost.


    MIDDLE BRANCH:-

    Lvl1 Pommel Strike (Offensive)
    MP cost = 200MP

    Strike enemy with the back of the katana to cause paralysis and stun.
    The chance of it to cause paralysis is
    50 + 5*SkillLvl %
    If the enemy is already paralyzed it allows you to stun them with a chance of
    5*SkillLvl %
    So at lvl10 it gives you 100% chance to inflict paralysis and 50% chance to stun an already paralyzed enemy
    Kinda disappointing skill as the stun chance is only 50% even at lvl10.
    Shield users with shield bash are still the best choice for stunning bosses.

    Damage wise the skill is meh and also it is not categorized as unsheathe

    Lvl2 Magadachi (Offensive)
    MP cost = 3MP

    A defensive parry skill.
    It has an animation duration of like 3-4seconds during this time if you take any damage it will get reduced and you will recover some MP.
    NOTE:- If you successfully parry an enemy attack the skill will not do any damage. It will only do damage if you do not get hit during its animation.
    The amount of MP recovered is:-
    10 + 10*SkillLvl
    The amount of damage reduced upon getting hit is based on the category of attack on you:-
    90% for physical and fractional attacks
    45% for magic attacks
    The damage reduction is same for all lvls of magadachi.
    Also magadachi cancels all ailments done by the attack dealt on you in its duration.
    In addition to that if you have more than 20% of your HP left then this skill prevents death from a fatal attack which would usually kill you (Even after the gigantic reduction)


    Damage wise this skill is also meh and it too is not categorized as unsheathe.
    Additionally it can not be added to a combo either.

    I am still trying to find a good use for this skill. Perhaps someone who is interested in making a katana pure tank or semi tank can find a good use for it.

    Lvl3 Zantei Settetsu (Offensive)
    MP cost = 4MP

    Another parrying skill but this time its a defensive offense.
    It has a regular animation duration of 2-3seconds when it hits 4 low powered attacks in a row during this time if you get hit by any enemy attack, the attack will be completely nullified and allows you to unleash a very powerful 5th hit.
    I dont need to explain how powerful that 5th hit is as you may have already seen videos of it on youtube.
    Zantei also cancels flinch, tumble, stun and knockback that you may get from the nullified attack allowing successful 5th hit without interruption.
    The 5th hit also known as the pursuit hit can inflict armor break on the boss with a chance of:-
    50 + 5*SkillLvl
    Which gives 100% armor break inflict at lvl10
    For some reason the skill has the same check for stability and critical on the first 4hits and the pursuit hit but seperate check for guard and evasion. (If first 4hits are critical pursuit will be critical as well but if first 4hits get evaded that does not mean pursuit will get evaded as well)

    The skill is categorized as unsheathe contrary to some individual's belief that none of the skills in the middle branch are unsheathe.

    UPPER BRANCH:-

    Lvl1 Issen (Offensive)
    MP Cost = 1MP

    Attack by a flash drawn sword and hit twice.
    Supposed to be the standard fast attacking skill like flash stab and astute but... doesnt feel fast at all because of the slow 2nd hit animation.
    The 2nd hit gets increased critical rate of 3x.
    Meaning if your total critical rate is 34 or more the 2nd hit will become guaranteed critical.
    Despite this the skill does not have a good skill multiplier compared to the tier3 skills so is not worth maxing.
    The skill is unsheathe.

    Lvl1 Pulse Blade (Offensive)
    MP Cost = 1MP

    Attack by generating 3 waves from your blade.
    All katana skills have the same range as the katana's auto attack... (That is 2m) Except pulse blade and the next skill.
    Pulse blade has a range of 12m meaning it can be used at 12m from the enemy.
    Pulse blade hits 3 times with each wave getting consecutively stronger by: (At lvl10)
    2nd hit is twice as strong as the 1st hit and 3rd hit is thrice as strong as the 1st hit
    The skill also becomes weaker upon using from distance as in for the damage calculation of this skill the def of the enemy becomes higher if used from a long range.
    E.g If used from 12m It increases enemy def by 12% at lvl10
    All 3 hits have seperate critical and stability check (If 1st hit is critical that doesnt mean all 3 will be critical)
    This skill also takes multiplier from magic proration while affecting physical proration.
    i.e. It is similiar to tempest and spinning slash as in it is one of the very few skills that break the rule of proration and get increased damage upon spamming.

    Except this time it is not useful in building other physical skills unlike tempest and spinning
    The skill also allows you to do a slide motion if it is used seperately without a combo or if there is no skill after it in a combo.
    This usually causes a dillema as the slide motion can be really useful to dodge an aoe if pulse blade is kept as a combo ender but that also means you can not keep it as a combo opener to take advantage of it as a fast long range skill and create combo range gap.

    The skill is unsheathe

    Lvl2 Triple Thrust (Offensive)
    MP Cost = 3MP

    Attack by swiftly dashing on the enemy and moving behind it.
    Triple thrust hits the enemy 3 times, all hits do the same damage and do not have seperate check for crit (If 1hit is critical all three of them are)
    Triple thrust has a range of 12m just like pulse blade meaning it can be used from a distance.
    It also increases the base damage of the next skill by a certain amount that is both dependent on the skill lvl and the player lvl.
    Base damage boost on next skill:-
    + PlayerLVL/(11-SkillLVL)
    Meaning for a 100Lvl char at lvl10 this skill increases the next skill by 100 base damage (for those of you who dont know 100 base damage is like having additional 100ATK)
    But the fact that it gets consumed by support skills means that it can not be stacked with meikyo if you have that so absolutely no point in having it lvl10 if you are a meikyo user.
    The damage is not very good. It does allow you to get behind the bosses to close gap but like... we have shukuchi for that already.
    The skill is unsheathe.

    Lvl3 Hasso Happa (Offensive)
    MP Cost = 5MP

    SAKURA FLOWER POWER/SENBONZAKURA KAGEYOSHI EVERYBODY
    Attack using sakura flower petals.
    Hasso is the only aoe skill in the katana tree but its action range is still 2m (Can not use it from a distance)
    The skill gets increased number of hits by lvling up:
    Lvl1-3 1hit
    Lvl2-6 2hits
    Lvl7-10 3hits
    The radius of the first hit is 4m in the aoe while the radius of the 2nd and 3rd hits are 8m.
    The 2nd and the 3rd hit will not hit any enemies not registered with your aggro (meaning all the moving monsters not yet targetted will not get hit by the 2nd and the 3rd hit)
    From lvl1-9 all three hits do the same damage but addtionally at lvl10 the first hit will get damage boost to do almost twice the damage as the 2nd and the 3rd hit.
    The critical, stability check for all three hits is seperate (meaning if 1 hit is critical does not mean all 3 of them are critical unless you are using meikyo in that case all three will get the same critical boost)
    Hasso happa is classified as isplace meaning short range damage+% stat and the skill whack will not affect it.
    But the best part out of all is that hassohappa will NEVER GET EVADED, MISS OR GRAZE. If you are full str>dex and use meikyo then hasso is a much better choice of DPS skill than zantei.
    I see people complaining about zantei everywhere saying its too op and needs a nerf but never have I seen anyone complain about hasso even though it does not need you to parry anything, never grazes or gets evaded and barely 20-25% less total damage than zantei. In my opinion hasso is more broken its like if the no graze snipe was made into an aoe and given the power of strike stab.
    Aside from all that hasso also allows you to do a slide dodge after its animation ends in case you use it manually or as a combo ender.
    And yes it is unsheathe.


    FAQ TIME:-

    Q.) What is unsheathe? what is the difference between unsheathe+ and unsheathe+% and finally which skills are classified as unsheathe in the katana tree.
    Unsheathe is a special category of attacking skills.
    If any attacking skill is classified as unsheathe it will gain bonus damage boost from the stats unsheathe attack+ and unsheathe attack+%

    Unsheathe+ flat means it will give you flat amount of atk to the attacks categorized as unsheathe.
    E.g Goovua with unsheathe attack+100 can be considered as Atk+100 for unsheathe attacks.
    While unsheathe+% is a direct multiplier of your damage done by the attacks categorized as unsheathe.
    E.g Odelon machina with Unsheathe attack+10% increases your base damage done by 10%
    Unsheathe attack+% stacks on the top of Unsheathe attack+ flat which means the flat part will also get boosted by the % part.

    As for what attacks are classified as unsheathe:-
    All auto attacks of katana main are classified as unsheathe.
    For other weapons the auto attack right after guarding, evading and shukuchi dash are also classified as unsheathe.
    As for skills all katana offensive skills except magadachi and pommel strike are classified as unsheathe.
    I have personally tested all the skills and yes it is true only pommel and maga are not unsheathe rest all other skills are unsheathe. Anyone who is feeling skeptical is free to disprove me with a video.

    Only katana + dagger and bow + katana possible. Trust me you wouldnt wanna use MD on katana xD
