Since the implementation of the new Post Ratings, many of you have started to abuse it and rate random/old postings with a rating not relevant to the post.

The Toram Online Staff will begin to issue warnings to those who are abusing the system. It's very obvious so no need to explain what constitutes abuse. Please note multiple warnings result in temporarily bans to permanent bans from the forum if the issue is not addressed.

Let's please enjoy it as it's a great tool to promote good ratings on posts that deserve it.

Forgive me ahead of time if I may have misunderstood this, but is it possible to lock, what's considered an old post, to disable the rating icon? Or empower a member to lock their threads? I haven't seen any Post Ratings Guidelines, so I don't think it would be fair for the members to receive a warning, or banned, if there were no rules established stipulating the use of it. I know it's common sense, but you need to allow and afford the members the opportunity to know your goals and intent so it wouldn't be abused. If abused with rules in place, then I would completely understand and agree.

Another thing I want to note is having "Salty". This rating tool is not conducive and will only antagonize the person that is unable to take a joke. Are we not suppose to show some decorum? Since everyone here is friendly, I hardly doubt there is really any real use for it apart as a "joking around" rating tool used on other member's post. If this wasn't the intent of it, then it should just be removed completely since players are just only trying to be funny. For those that disagrees on a post, they should respond their reason why they disagree rather than than clicking the big red X and leave it at that, so maybe the thread starter and/or other players may enlighten the player, with reason. I believe removing this icon would also be beneficial and if a player disagrees they don't have to rate the post period and move on to the next; after all, they have every opportunity to respond why they disagree, you know? Optimistic may have a negative effect on the rated individual. Why the heart shape for friendly? I have to think twice before selecting this icon....not going to lie, I've used optimistic (for aesthetic reason) and salty (for fun) twice; X (disagree) and ♥ (not sure who I used this one on...hearts are forever cute ), once.

Personally, responses, such as, "No", "You're wrong", etc, even though the intent was for a learning moment, never broods well....even when you're trying to say it tactfully....because these terms are associated with a negative impact/result. If I may make a suggestion, if rules are to be enforced, you need to back these with guidelines and policies before administrative action is taken against a community member. Within those rules, you need to inform the community what are the rewards once an offense is made (You've been award a 24-Hour Timeout from utilizing Toram Online Forum) and level of different type of offenses you guys can think of and the fate of those repeated offenders. Or have the moderators take down the offender's post. Sure you may have your ones-ies and two-sies, but other members, within the community, are there to diffuse or mitigate before the conversation gets way out of hand...worst case scenario a moderator steps in. So many venues to choose from.

For a good month being a member here, I haven't seen anything crazy. I honestly like this forum, everyone is super nice, friendly, and helpful. You guys can always revert back to just having only the "Like" radio button. If a member doesn't like the post, don't click "Like"...simple as that. Simple is good :p. This one is getting too long....time to stop typing

Everything's calm down now. Before April, we had flame threads and drama almost daily. The fact that Vash decided to look more into this forum's needs and having now 2 mods has been very helpful.

I've only played Toram for a good month now. My IGN and Username for forums are not the same for privacy reasons :p
Being a newcomer, I didn't realize the history of it all, but I still believe guidelines and policies, for said subject, be implemented so we can adhere to them. I, for one, "try" to ignore drama ....don't worry, I'll "try" to be a good girl :p

Thanks for the feedbacks. After going through some considerations, I have made some needed adjustments to the post ratings. I feel this will be best.

I feel like you should be able to lock post ratings if you want like someone said. :)

I agree with the "old button" spam, lol like i replied something on a thread and after an hour or so I received an old rating to that reply I did lmao. Its good that "negative" ratings are lessen, but I would like to have the informative button back, idk it seems useful tho. :D

Agree and Informative buttons were good. A Like is different than an Agree, and I used to give and receive a good amount of Informative ratings. Useful is fine to replace it with a Like.
