Combo-System question

    Well... today I thought lets try to make a Combo for my Sword Fu Char. I ended up with the classic Combo Astute->Trigger(Save)->Tripple Kick(Smite)->Shell Break(Consec)... but I noticed if u replace Trigger Slash with Magic: Impact the dmg u deal gets higher BUT the motion is slower. Since I really like fast Combos I thought that I could add Impact(Consec) after Trigger Slash(Save) BUT MP Cost did become 2MP instead of 1MP. I thought that I calculated right since Impact(Consec) may use 2 MP but "halves" the MP of Tripple Kick...
    I dont get it cause if I use any 1MP Skill like HH, Smash, Holy Fist(Consec) the MP Cost stays 1MP... maybe the mistake is so obvious that I cant even see it xD
    So I hope some of u can help me with that cause I dont see the mistake I obviously made... ^^'

    if you halve the cost of triple kick... its supposed to give you 150mp cost but the system doesnt work that way
    it gives out half (150mp) then rounded up value of it and it would cost you 2mp instead and if you smite it without a skill after it, it becomes 2 x 2 = 4mp cost

    astute>trigger slash (save 3mp)>impact (cons)>trikick smite(2mp... becomes 4mp if no closer)>
    would cost u 2mp bars if you do not place a skill after triple kick

    Dude, I think there is a bug that is ignoring his closing shellbreak cons in the end. ^_^

    if you want to do astute > trigger slash (save) > impact (consec) > triple kick (smite), you would have to put a 100mp skill as combo closer such as hard hit to use up all the saved mp from trigger slash. triple kick halved is 150mp, rounded up to 200mp. 200mp triple kick + 100mp combo ender = 300mp to be used up by trigger slash (save)

    mp can only be used in stacks of 100.
    naturally all skills have costs like that. odd numbers created by impact are rounded up (according to rounding rules: 0-4 down, 5-9 up).

    oh i think if you read closely to what he said, he added impact after trigger save and then smited triple kick but he did not place a combo ender hence the 2mp as i explained

    Thank u all for ur replies... but still im confused... I know that Tripple Kick Smite becomes 2MP instead of 3MP if Impact is used but the thing that confused me is that if I use an 1MP Skill like HH, etc.: 1MP+3MP(Saved)+(1MP(Consec)+3MP(Smite)=4MP)+3MP(Consec)=1MP
    And with Impact:
    1MP+3MP(Saved)+(2MP(Consec)+2MP(Smite)=4MP)+3MP(Consec)=2MP...
    So the situation is either way if u have 1MP Skill and Tripple Kick or Impact and Tripple Kick the Cost is basiclly 4MP and thats why I am confused... well... maybe thats where I calculated wrong?? I seriously dont know ;-;

    ah i see.. well he didn't say on his first post which specific combo he used so i got confused
    i logged in the game to check... the shell break cons on the end costed another 1mp... it must be a bug following last week's fixes

    Now, I realized what is the error based from your computation. You haven't fully understood how consecutive tag works.

    I will use your example:

    1MP+3MP(Saved)+(2MP(Consec)+2MP(Smite)=2MP)+3MP(Consec)=2MP

    To make this combo worth 1MP, you need to do this..

    1MP+3MP(Saved)+(2MP(Consec)+2MP(Smite)+1MP(Swift, Smite or no tag)=3MP)+3MP(Consec)=1MP

    That is his exact combo, based from his 1st post. It's not a salty smiley, I call it the unemotional smiley. I usually end ALL my post with it.

    From

    astute>trigger(save)>triple(smite)>shellbreak(cons)

    He turned it to

    astute>trigger(save)>impact(cons)>triple(smite)>shellbreak(cons)

    wat r u talking about? its not about the correcton u made lol...i really did miss that part and what u said above ^ is right
    but its just i smell sarcasm on occasion and i love to explore it in immense detail
    i know that passive-defensive response because i see it all the time on people ... its something like rolling your eyes over something you disagree on
    im not that nice i can be any smiley i want

    The sarcasm is just your imagination, coz I'm not even aware why you suddenly made that harsh remark.

    When you told me to read it closely, I did. But, when I asked you if you'd like to read it again, did you atleast check to clear things out? ^_^

    Yep, that's the correct answer.
    Another way to fix it is to simply level up Trigger to lvl 6. That way, it becomes:
    Astute(1 MP)>Trigger(At lvl 6, costs 2 MP; 2 MP saved)>Impact(Cons, so 0 MP)>TKick(2 MP; uses everything in the Save bank, so 0 MP)>SBreak(Cons, so 0 MP; no MP left in bank)
