Toram needs more love for bows!!

Archer X Gunner Combo... I would like to try this someday. Sounds fun to do and seems like it will be a necessity once Raid Boss Battles has been implemented(if ever)

 

Anyways for those who might be misunderstanding my thread. I created this thread mainly to spread the love for bows. As we can see, there are really only few bow users in the game(Well this is somewhat starting to change for some reason which is good ).

Most players go for "pure damage" types which is why they pick bowguns over bows. As we can see at this point in the game bowguns outclasses bows in terms of Maximum Damage Output. But what i want to make people realize is the fact that later on in the game(if the game ever survives til 150 cap) we will need to make a more balanced build that is not just focused on damage but also on utility and survival. Do you want to get 1 hitted by a raid boss? ofcourse not. Your damage is meaningless once you're dead. Then again bowguns will not be outclassed easily later on in the game. In fact, there are more paths for bowgun users to take.

Since bowguns have lesser range and has no ailment, bowgun users may take the path of Vit and you can even split it to vit/str if you want some more cdmg or go vit/crit if you want some more crit rate. Bowgun users may also take the path of agi for evasion purposes(ever heard of agi tanks? ). Late game wise bows will definitely have better overall damage than bowguns but there are a whole lot of situations where bowguns will shine big time together with bows so yeah. I just want to balance the playerbase of the game who think so low of bows when in fact bows are really good.

 

it's the skill damage multiplier of bowguns and attack per dex stat that makes it so attractive. however some gunners don't realise that snipe crits ALL the time with bows (unless you're using gear bow). i honestly can't remember the last time my snipe didn't crit lol bows have alot of potential damage wise, but bowguns have many more paths like you stated. e.g. they can wear a shield and start adding vit. that would be pretty op and you wouldn't even need to bother finding a pt xD just suck up all that damage and keep sniping.

 

Exactly. tank gunners can tank and still deal decent damage. Talk about hitting 2 birds with 1 stone. The "Pure Damage" path actually belongs to bow users. That is also precisely why they have longer range. It is so that they won't get hit easily. Frontlines belong to tankers and swordsmans(not sure about knuckles i suck at that xD). The ones in the middle should be the support and the gunners. The ones at the back should be the mages and the bow users.

I'm just hoping asobimo will make raid boss battles a "6-8 man party" for us to fully utilize the strategical positions of the classes.

 

6 - 8 man party would mean 6 - 8 dps xD off topic but we need more people to start using unpopular classes.

while many players think gunner stuck to DPS role n archer stuck to debuffer/support DPS, it's quite the opposite.
gunner have countless builds to utilize with their freedom of sub-weapon choices. while archer stuck with arrows, means that archer will be DPS no matter what

 

I don't mind if it is off topic as long as its interesting xD. Anyways 6-8 dps lol please no xD. At the current time the only place where you could utilize a tanker/support is when you're in maze higher floors. Bosses are too easy to defeat that all you really need is one breaker and 3 damagers.

Anyways why am I even talking about strategical positions? I feel like Shiroe now(from Log Horizon*off topic* xD). Anyways sooner or later we will have to deal with strategies so I'm slowly building it inside my mind. I can already explain how my "Strategical Positioning" will and should work but most likely on a different thread which is I'm too lazy to make and that thread would just be useless anyway at this point in time as it is still too early.

u can always command a party of beginner while helping their main quest lol
trust me, it's whole lot fun

 

I should try that with my beginner friends(Except they prolly won't listen to me that easily xD). But you know, 8 man party is the best T_T. Dear Asobimo, don't fail me or else everything i have planned so far will be wasted xD. If i will be the commander, i should take the support role though. The support is supposed to be in the middle of everyone and it is also how it should be for a commander. Commanding is super tiring though, I usually leave the commanding to someone else and just play safe xD.

they've been archers form back in mid-2015 before 3rd tier skills released lol

 

ohh xD i was archer from the beginning too lol. only after tier 3 skills were released everyone started making archers and gunners
