CRT or VIT?

ever since i capped my DEX on my archer i cant seem to decide on what i should work on next, thinking VIT for hp since we have the C777, C888, C999 gear (yes im aware there will be higher critical gear in the future) for survivability wise

Then again i do love hitting crtdmg which is also why im stuck between the two, should i sacrifice that crt rate for hp or keep aiming for more crt hits?

 

VIT is pointless for the most part, you won't get that much hp from it. STR or CRT is most useful for dex.

 

But we dont get atk from STR...unless for more crtdmg if im not mistaken?

 

You do get atk from STR. Like 1 point or something, contrary to dex having 4 points.

 

Str or Crit. You can always use other items to boost HP. Hunters don't need to worry about that. Besides, if you snipe you can prolly take it before your health gets down. Str slightly boosts up crit and attack from bows while crit is obvious.

 

is that when you have a bow equipped instead of a bg? Cus when i add STR on bg i don't seem to gain atk at all

No a bow gives like +2 attack per STR plus cdmg. BG gives 1 plus cdmg. Unless they changed it, I don't use s gunner/archer so I don't know if any changes have been made.

If I remember correctly, STR also gives CDMG.

 

0 (ZERO) atk from STR and 5(FIVE) STR gives 1 C-Dmg.

You also gain 1 Stability per 20(TWENTY) STR

 

Bow gets 1(ONE) atk per STR.

 

If you go DEX CRT, 95% of your attacks will Crit. Say, if you do 3000 per attack, you will get:
3000 X 1.5 (crit damage) X 95 = 427500 and
3000 X 5 = 15000
Over 100 hits, your total damage is around 442500

If you go DEX STR, 25% of your attack will Crit, you are still doing 3000 per hit as you get no atk from STR
3000 X 2 (crit damage with max STR) X 25 = 150000
3000 X 75 = 225000
Over 100 hits, your damage is 375000

On paper, it seems you are doing less damage, but Toram throws a lot of variables in damage calculation. At max STR, you have 20% higher stability.

442500 X [20% (stability on arrow) + 50% (average stability on bowgun)] = 331875
375000 X [20% (stability on arrow) + 50% (average stability on bowgun) + 22% (stability from max STR)] = 345000

So after stability, STR edges out. Not only that, the higher the Crit rate, the more this calculation will bias toward STR build as crits now do 2x damage as supposed to 1.5x. And we still have not accounted for Crit gear.

STR will be the way to go regardless you use Bowgun or Bow.
