After some time farming this boss I feel like this is an useful information to share.
(Please excuse my English )
I tested this with some nice random people.
So when and why does scraper turn red?
When it turns red it greatly increases its damage and tear through your party with devastating aoes. That's what we all know.

My first observation is, the boss turns red after snipe, heavy smash, and sometimes sword tempest. Snipe is almost guaranteed to trigger the rage mode for me. However some ppl told me their snipes don't.

After some investigation, I found the key is the amount of damage done in one hit in respect to the max health of the boss.
In normal mode, a 16k snipe triggered the red mode. Later a 13k snipe from me triggered it also. A 11k snipe from another pt member didn't. He also did several 13k ones too with one of them not triggering. I am guessing the triggering number here is around 13k. Notice that 660k * 2% is 13.2k.
In easy mode my magic arrow, bullseye with save both did damage under 1k and did not trigger. My normal auto attack of 1067 damage didn't trigger. My critical auto attack of 2.6k triggered it. Notice the easy mode boss has only 1/10 the hp of the normal mode boss.

My bold assumption is, any hit on scrader that's over about 2% of its max hp will trigger the red/rage mode. Thus dot skills (storm, arrow rain, tempest etc) are ideal to take this boss down with little trouble. And u can tumble/flinch this boss all you want there's no penalty.

Of course you can always have an op tank on the pt and just ignore the rage mode

 

hmm im still new fighting this boss and
i just know it that it can turned red hehehe..

anyway my heavy smash often hit 50k and it never turned red for me (or maybe im not paying attention to it)
or can it be cancelled if its flinched?

maybe its just like yelb?

 

I usually just Tumble him :v

 

Never noticed, always killed him to fast to tell, and interrupt his aoes xP

 

a party member of mine was doing 30k snipes, I didn't notice him turning red or changing damage though, and I was tanking so if anything like that happens I'd notice

 

He didnt turn red and he murdered my tank with a 13k fatal dmg

Yelb will become a pain in the a** when he goes mad
He becomes faster
Goes AOE's with 600-2k dmg
But still he calms down :3

 

My party: 2h-me, 1 gfu, 1 mage, 1 snipe skill it fast af so i don't see anything danger tho.. even Snipe, Tempest, HSmash it still at normal state ._. Or Flinch and Tumble help us

 

The hideous boss that turns red every combo. ^_^

So far Scrader isnt much of a pain at normal mode......it mostly just do 103dmg and 603 as highest....but ive never triggered red mode yet......and so far it isnt much hard to solo...its just a pain that it has high health

 

In my exp it would tumble or stun at once when ever it gets guard break..
