I'm doing some price checking now and it looks like you'd make just as much money selling mats raw as you would synthesizing them and selling the finished product. In what case, why bother at all? I had grand plans of buying mats low, synthesizing and selling at a higher price but...

Right now the only profitability I see is pimping out someone's gear. I can see rich players dropping hundreds of thousands, even millions of Spina to change how their gear looks and keep the same stats.

not much anymore. having 3 lock before everyone else got 3 lock 1.5 years ago was how we made money, but now since everyone else has it, there's no money making there anymore. otherwise, others just craft revs n sell them

But when I think about it...you can get 3 lock from an NPC for 50k. How is it profitable? >_>

    3lock enables u to 100% transfer 3 parts
parts are: app, stats, dye part a, dye part b, dye part c
eg i want to synth armigma app with killer coat 2dye
    with 3lock i can get armigma app w 2dye 100%
if 2lock i can only get armigma app w 1dye 100%, have to gamble the other dye

    Ah, okay.

Welp, last two questions. Can I take an already modified armor and use it to customize my own,? Say, an Adventurer Garb that's been made to look like an Aqua Garb. Can I use that to make my armor look like an Aqua Garb? Also, where can I find some dye?

i assume u meant if u can synth (adv garb w aqua garb app) with your own arm w stats
u can, outcome will be aqua garb app w ur own arm stats
u can usually find arm dyes from most miniboss or via events

that is because people are greedy and sell everything 10 times higher than it's actual value :(

you shouldn't make a character for others or to make money, you make it for yourself.
then you can see what it can do for others.
    =(^.^)=

    potion selling is still good:
Vita+ II costs 300 each at the general store, you can sell it for 200 each and people will buy it ;)
there are so many good potions to sell, and even the lower level potions find buyers.

Isn't buy low, sell high the epitomy of greedy actions?

Anyway, you're over-exaggerating that a bit I think. If we're talking Flower Nectars you know very well why Flower Nectars are more valuable than the products it produces right now.

If you're talking about mats to make buff potions. It'd be stupid for people to sell those stacks at a "reasonable" price for most ingredients. If you consider the time (cause you're going to solo more often than not) spent to procure most of these ingredients compared to mainstream farming spots. Then factor in that the market is nearly non-existant in the first place, you better believe that someone is going to charge your lazy ass as much as possible.

Anything else sold for "10x" the price typically has a reasoning better than greed. In a reasonable market, greed is punished by the consumers. If you're shopping in a scarse and "greedy" market you may want to consider why that market is scarse in the first place.

    Rant End.

Well since this topic is still kicking...

I see people selling Giga Speed/Shooting Star potions for 900-1,000 Spina EACH. Is that what people typically pay for these?

I can't afford my alchemist to be productive simply for the bag space limit issues. I mean, three REAL dollars to open one bag spot? Or I can be on "the hook" monthly and get them locked if I default, no thanks. I'd note that nothing in the currency exchanges really makes any financial sense. I mean, do people really buy ore from the consignment that they can buy from the NPC at half the price? Ever? The 120k to 200k markup on antidegs? Does that make sense for turning in a quest (and getting xp) 99 times? I mean, it is about 300 clicks. That's almost 500 Spina per click. Does the Nisel Wood situation make sense? It is about 22 XP per spina (at 1500 a st). Everything else you can get XP for is around 12 XP per spina (half the value). Again, simply for a few extra clicks (typically 3x as many as Bitter Nut and 30x as many as NC). If NC didn't fall like rain there would be a huge XP issue in the game. There IS a huge XP issue in the game when bosses give you 1/150th of a single quest. But then, the game is about, apparently, farming and looking pretty... so what does one expect. Ways to fix it: put names on MERCH sold so we can identify and ignore the MERCHs? Make more quests that give decent rewards? Make bosses at higher difficulty worth the 10 minutes it took to kill them? All of these solutions have their own problems. Play the game or don't, it is technically FTP.
