    'Sup again, doods.

I wanted to share with you, my concept of a character. Please, read ahead.

Triple Build: Impact Brawler, Luck Farmer, Luck Refiner = Contact Mage

    Why Impact Brawler?
Impact does pretty good damage, when paired with an md, and since most people, regardless of build, get impact anyhow, we can rather use it as the main damage source, and save some sp on getting another main dps move. The brawler aspect comes in with the ability to interrupt bosses. Repeatedly. Magic usually has two interrupt skills, Javelin and Impact, but if brawler is added into the mix, two interrupts jumps up to five. With many supporting physical skills, this build boasts a high level in self proration, without the use of auto attacks. Also, being that Int is the main stat, this is a brawler that is capable of efficiently using Bless. Furthermore, this build is budget, sp-wise, so the extra can go to the other two builds here.

    Why Luck Farmer?
Every point into luck increases the base drop rate by * 100.25% (confirmation needed). This is effective in farming items in mass (like nightmare crystals). Furthermore, these extra skills fit into this build well, because of the fact that Storm is commonly stated to be the best tool for farming weaker mobs (fitting for an Int build). And, since this build will not be improved greatly by the "normal" stats for knuckles (Dex and Agi), luck is an effective stat to drop the excess skill points into.

    Why Luck Refiner?
Mainly, people refine using the Tech stat. But at a certain refine level (+13), the success rate for refining drops severely. Since at that point, the success rate of a Tech refiner and a non-Tech refiner will be approximately equivalent, a Luck Refiner seeks to reduce the rate of failure instead, while spamming a refine with a success rate of 1%. The best method to achieve the refine level of +15.

Skills: Total sp required is 185

    Equipment:
Weapon: Drills (dropped by Moonlight Potum, at Mauez's room) [Physical Attacks will never miss]
Sub Weapon: Empress Soul (The highest stability [non-rare] Magic Device, which is relatively easy to obtain)
    Armor: Int% and Matk%

Ring: Philosopher's Ring and Steeplejack Talisman

    Crysta:
Weapon: Imitacia [Matk +5%, 200 mp]
Armor: Roga [+1000 Hp, Weapon Atk +1%]

**Dps / Non-interrupt: Holy Fist > Shell Break (Save) > Impact (Smite) > Bless / Sonic Wave (Swift)
***Follow-up Combo: Holy Fist > Impact (Smite) > Shell Break (Cons)
Farming: Impact > Storm (Cons) > Mp Charge (Swift)
Perfect Proration: Smash > Shell Break (Save) > Impact (Smite) > Javelin (Swift)

*If you're solo, or your party is mainly magic users, feel free to spam, if the party is mainly physical, DO NOT USE. [Use Perfect Proration instead]
**Make sure to equip steeplejack [nullifies your ability to Tumble], combo good against interrupt sensitive bosses
***All combos cost 1 mp, except for this one. Most effectively used after a successful Stun
****Use Heavy Smash as an ender if you need aid in drawing aggro against your party

Using the long dps combo against Don Yeti. The damage taken by me was minimal.

And, well... that is my build! Comments, suggestions, tips, whatever, are all welcome.

some points-remove the refine + and Refine++. you are going to have a 1% success rate regardless, so might as well spend those points on MP charge oh yeah and refine @ lvl1. that would be more useful for a triple purpose build. Steeplejack should be used on sensitive bosses, who react to flinch/tumble.
most importantly, the chance of an xtal goes up by such an insignificant amount that you are actually better off taking a proper build to the boss. luck slows down the party, and this build physically prorates on top of that, slowing killing even further.

May i ask how hard your impact (smite) hits? And any reason for javelin 10 instead of leaving it at 5?Thanks!

I'm having some success with this setup too (though im only level 70). When stun (finisher) lands i usually use in impact-storm-sonic wave, before resuming with normal combos (...mp permitting!)

Please ignore my sub-optimal shame. Also... max Javelin because for increased flinch rate when using the perfect proration combo when your party is mainly physical users.

I also had show damage taken active, but the poor boss is always interrupted. I feel that this build is extremely safe as tank, or control.

My damage seems to fluctuate between 14k - 20k, so roughly, average dmg is ~17k.

Furthermore, this combo was completely spammed. Combo prorates itself.

Is the storm smited or consecutive?

Ah, im around 18k impact hits at max proration. It goes up to 23k with concentrate skill proc. The new beak mask seems to go well with this build.

Definitely smite the storm =D. Each hit was around 7k, cant remember how many times it procs for MD at level 10 though.

And i completely agree. Very safe boss farming indeed!

I'm really envious of that 2k matk... but the drills is a key component of this build for the 100% hit rate, for the stun locking.
That killer coat... is custom made with int&matk?

Yeah, my matk should be higher since knucks should get 4 matk per 1 int, right now i get the same matk if i equip an md

Update, with 255 Int now and a slightly more optimized setup (1.4k matk), I'm around 20-25k impact hits during the infinite stun-locking combo at max proration. Loving the super safe boss farming strategy (but certain bosses only).

Next question is where to put the rest of the stats... is ~100 LUK noticeable enough for better drop rate? I like Sowc's idea here but i'm struggling to decide. Maybe rest in DEX so the char can more easily dabble in a normal mage build. Maybe AGI to stay true to the brawler path (for aspd and to mix in an actual level of physical damage, but i would have to lose those drills). Or VIT just for more bulk (though i already have tapir arm for that juicy 3k hp). The choices... any opinions would be appreciated!

Well, if you forgo the luck as the secondary stat, I suppose your flexibility will be greater against bosses. I'd possibly ignore choosing AGI, because dividing yourself between physical and magical would rather lower your damage output, I reckon. If not luck, I think splitting between DEX and VIT would be your best bet.
