Why do people choose to have short characters?

I don't mean to discriminate against short people but isn't it every persons dream to be tall if they aren't already? I don't just see some people with short avatars, I see an overwhelmingly high amount of them in contrast to tall setting avatars. I'm just wondering what's up with that? I personally don't like looking like a 3rd grade warrior.

 

because there is no dwarf race.

And also instead of tall, the 3D character model looks bigger overall compared to just being tall, which makes the character looks abit more like a gaint.

 

I have a tall Mage and Priest and medium height BS and Alcy. My wife hasa short ava. This is because she is short though.

 

Short characters you can zoom out further when farming and look at a wider area around you.

I think the negatives of the look outweigh the benefit of the zoom out. Really I think the zoom out is a really miniscule benefit.

 

I would say it is because some people thinks it's cute.

I have short, medium, and tall avatars which I thought is perfect but when I looked from my friend's phone perspective they looks like dwarf, average-girl, and giantess

 

They're not even tall or short... They're like scaled versions of each other. haha It's lazy design tbh

 

I'm always medium. Short is too small and tall makes me feel like a big baby faced person. o.o

My mage is my only shorty cuz I wanted him to be "kawaii".

The difference is very big actually. Its not just a difference in height that zooms out a bit.. its not like that. Its hard to explain but try creating a short character and test for yourself...
Ok i shall try to explain. The way the zoom works it takes into account of the height of the wall behind you to the avatar eyes. Then it draws a line from the top of the wall to the characters eyes and extrapolate it to the floor. If that line can terminate at a floor area you can zoom it like you are looking from an angle far away. If that extrapolated line does not terminate at the floor but at an opposide side then you wont be able to zoom out much. If that line terminates at a side high up then you will see all big people on your screen. This effect has little difference in wide open spaces but in small confined places like ruti staircase the effect is very noticable though you can mitigate that effect by viewing from a walless side such as from where the stairs leads up. In bossing a small character can easy see whether the red line touches the feet by maintaining a slight below horizontal view without sacrificing ability to see far. A giant char would have to have a big down view shift which if maintained you will not be able to see where the boss runs too unless you look up again..

there's no reason to take height seriously. This game is hardly that fast paced and complex that you need to see everything around you.

 

My characters are short cuz I'm short irl... Hehehe x3

 

My male avatars are ..all tall... but on female... i mostly choose short...why? Coz its cute and adorable to custumize like the puppy style.. but i likely most my tall mage...so hot and sexy on light ooz armor....

 

Because I want a 'cute' character to stare at while I'm playing the game. It's even better (funnier) when she's running around with a huge 2 handed sword.

I like to believe that using magic requires spiritual power which consumes a great deal of physical energy since it comes from within, and as a result mages suffer from a growth deficiency because the energy that was needed to grow is being converted into spiritual power for the mage.

Or at least that's the reason I came up with for why my mage is short, LMAO
