Alzy's 1h/Shield Tank (140 cap)

    Can you simply explain how aggro-gears affect certain skills and their mp-value that gets counted?

    It is direct multiplication to the value afaik.
    Sanctuary is 4mp so 400aggro there and +92% aggro means multiplying 400 to (1 + 92/100) = 1.92
    400*1.92 = 768 which is nearly 800
    Aggro+% does not affect provoke at all.
    Rest all skill's aggro increases with aggro+% stats. I am not sure if for rage sword and binding they increase the total aggro or just the base mp. Aggro calculation is done entirely server sided so theres no way to find out how it works except by trial and error no amount of datamining can help here. I need to confirm a lot of things but since no one volunteers for testing its difficult to give conclusive answers to everything :)

    Mayam actually I want you to re-test or re-check about Provoke.

    So I had this case earlier when doing Legend Gemrun on Nightmare Iconos earlier.
    I was tanking, and there was 1 time I lost aggro to a sniper. After the aggro changed, I clearly saw that sniper only running around without even attacking. I tried to get aggro back by casting provoke. And believe me, I casted Provoke 4 times in a row, yet, I still didn't get aggro back at all before I re-casted Guardian near the sniper.

    Question: Are you sure aggro generated by Provoke stacked if we spammed it? Because tbh as a knux tanker, I cast Provoke most of the times to maintain aggro (since I dont have fast aggro skills like Binding Strike).

    Once you lose Aggro it's really, REALLY tough to get it back without guardian, you have to generate like over 10,000 Aggro in order to get it back from smoke dust users. The APS of smoke dust is so incredibly high that provoke can't compare. Also sometimes the game wigs out and you can't see other players casting skills. But yeah it's tough to get that Aggro back.

    The only thing I can say is try to keep your APS higher than your pt so you never lose it in the first place.

    Yes but how is the actual calculation? That just doesnt make sense if once the aggro stolen, I have 10k aggro left behind.

    Let's giving a simple example:
    I took the aggro at the start of battle by using Warcry. Means I have like 300AP + 200AP (from stealing aggro). Totalling 500AP. Then a sniper used moeba-smoke(save)-snipe(smite), means his AP will be 1200 (1k from the combo, 200 from stealing aggro). The aggro changed to him.

    At this point i (supposed to) have 700 Aggro behind that sniper. One Provoke (1k) suppposed to make my aggro 1700 already (500 ahead of him). How issit you think he has 10k aggro + ahead of me?

    I once lost aggro to a guildie that just revived while tanking the trio of 6m DL event. Only empress was killed and it was about 6mins into the fight when it happened. It was duo cuz our other teamies fell. And now that i mentioned it, i think i forgot to send a bug report.
    Also, i think aggro have a buffer before the boss changes target and so it's harder to regain aggro. Btw, if u accidentally tap the home button or the screen got directed away from toram, u lose all your aggro.

    Why don’t you use sanctuary or Guardian? I see a lot of build using and was wondering why this build doesn’t? , making a tank and trying to find what build would suit me

    I don't need guardian to hold Aggro, I can hold without it, which means I don't have to wait for the long animation it has, I have more freedom to move around however I like, and I will never have to recast it.

    As for Sanctuary, my tank has ~20k health, and since Sanctuary relies upon 10% of your max health for the damage reduction, that means only hits that are ~2000 or lower would actually get the reduction effect, making Sanctuary, and also it's long animation, pretty much useless for me.

    I'm going to add Meikyo from katana skills into this build, by the way, along with shukuchi. More Aggro and more Ampr? Yes please

    Thanks for the reply, sorry I know I’m basically asking to be spoon fed however I’m wondering if you could tell me what skills I should prioritise on getting as a starting tank, lvl 40 and haven’t put any sp on anything yet

    Aw you're fine man, I would for sure start putting points into blade and shot skills, war cry and sneak attack probably generate the most Aggro out of anything in this build so far, they're pretty integral.

    With the introduction of Mononofu (Katana) skills, and along with it, the all classes Meikyo Shisui, I can generate even more aggro in all my combos!
    I held against a sniper spamming 1900 aggro 1mp combos for 5minutes without losing aggro once, without guardian, and without running out of mp. The only buffs I had were giga speed potions. The build will hold aggro quite easily now.

    Does meikyo shisui generate a lot of agro? Or? Cause with toy hammer I already have 100%crit with my arm, so should I be using this skill for agro? Or should I switch it out for another skill to use in the combo, forgot to ask if this build is actually “Tanky” can I tank hits or will I get shredded? I saw some tanks vids on YouTube where people were tanking 6+ odelon and never moving and could tank them for ages(they did use perfect defence), or another when they versed izano and stood there for Eva using guardian etc and taking no dmg

    Note: both vids on YouTube used Guardian

    Yes, this build is tanky just like any other tank build, the only difference is the lack of guardian, which doesn't even add any resist or defence for the caster.

    Meikyo effect only lasts until the next skill you cast, so since I use it mid combo, it's only use is some quick Aggro. It generates 200 Aggro base, and with 93% Aggro like I have, it generates 386 Aggro immediately.

    When wes showed me i was like um that aint the normal stuff. But after I figured exactly what you were doing and that its not supposed to be the traditional tank must say its a nice idea and now that im actually here looking at it must say its a nice build
