what you need is STR and INT (in equal amounts) and some DEX.
DEX is mainly for accuracy, try to focus on STR and INT.

it's also possible to switch STR and DEX, but most equipments are designed for STR and INT.

for the skills, there are 2 routes to choose from:
the ranged route, using only blade and magic skills and getting powerful long range attacks from Power Wave.
do not use Rampage, it doesn't work with Power Wave, go for Tempest instead.
you can use Sonic Blade as movement skill and Super Sonic Blade to avoid frontal AoEs.

or the melee route, using Shukuchi for pursuit with enhanced damage and ampr.
Rampage is very recommended for this one.
(of course you will not get Power Wave)

any build is possible, sadly as far as my knowledge is concerned no one has successfully build a good magic-physical hybrid except staff-fu

 

Try str int build using mozto armour or outworld armour boss drop can use fotrestia as well(spelled that wrong) can use 1 hand no sub wep and take katanas 2 handed passive use magic skilla for aliment add strike stab+astute combo lance and arrows can be put somewhere in can try with shield for more defensive approach i personally like dagger or arrow magic swordsman idea since damage will be lacking those 2 items will help alot thats with 1 hand you can be an up close "mage fighter" using staff and dagger skill mix magic blast does decent damage now im told havent got to it yet maybe at that in a main dps combo or the auto attack addtional damage route using the additonal magic items and wep i heard someone hit 20k add magic with fast attack speed it could dish out some serious damage i dont think additional damages is affected by protration much havent tested but if not you could dish out serious damage for a hybrid build all the gears are here everyone just wanna use tempest and storm which makes no sense if you use sword use tempest staff storm they look almost the same anyways or focus on other skills and be diffrent custom stats will be complicated to get tho id like to see mattk7% and attk7% cd7% or cr15 on a wep lol

 

Interesting about Staff Fu (Triple Kicks needs no gear to crit). At 150, you can almost have balanced str/int (200/200) now. And Mozto armour, york xtal, cupid potum are gears that both boost atk & matk. HP covered by Mozt arm already. Only issues might be CSPD (maybe choc ooze 2 xtal on arm?). Not sure how the final stats would look like on this setup though...
