what's the purpose of having 3k aspd?

can someone explain it to me? because iirc we only need 1100/1200 aspd to do no delay auto-attack
does having 3k aspd give any significant difference from having 1100/1200 aspd?
is it worth sacrificing other stat to just get 3k aspd?

 

additional aspd after 1100 provides motion speed making your skill animations faster.

 

It's not very significant, you would barely be able to tell the difference. However, once your aspd gets really high, you'll notice the difference. I think I read somewhere that 200aspd=+1% motion speed.

 

After you reach 1100 ASPD, every additional 180 ASPD increases the motion speed of all your attacks (normal, physical, & magical; support skills are unaffected) by 1%. the ASPD cap is at 10100, which equals +50% motion speed.

Motion speed might not seem like a great stat for dps, but for example, if you had a character with a combo that can be spammed without ruining proration or losing any MP and also has no support skills, the entire combo would take up 50% less time. If we spammed this combo with 10100 ASPD, we could use it twice in the time that it would take for another character with 1100 ASPD or less to use that same combo once. Since the first character can use their combos twice as often, that equals a 100% DPS increase.

The only problems with ASPD as a DPS stat is the fact that it can take a lot of effort to get it up to 10100, while getting things like cdmg and ATK would be easier, and that things like support skills and auto attacks lower your overall DPS boost from it a little bit.

It's definitely not the best stat for increasing your DPS, but it does contribuite. It can also make it easier to survive since you can move away from red/blue area attacks more quickly.

But just a slight correction. The "180 ASPD = 1% motion speed" bonus applies after 1000 ASPD(not 1100) so max is 10000 ASPD.

 

On top of that, survivability.

With your combos finishing faster, you won't have to worry about getting stuck and dying mid strike.

 

Datamimers usually say 10100, but I guess it's not a huge difference.

if youre an agi based class like dw and brawler its good to go for more than 3k aspd if not its not worth it.
