Theres kinda demand for tank nowadays

So im thinking of making one
Help me out with equips xtals shields. And other stuff
I have toy hammer so its gonna be 1h shield.
With p.def

 

I like using Ifrid shield for aspd buff, if you own a Juno shield for faster cast spamming it works great too. Resistance > Aggro. Also if you make a tank might as well give it more utility and make it a smith too.

Get ampr gear and xstals so you can always flinch, provoke, or p.def when needed.

Edit: If you go with player crafted arm and stat it elem resist applies to both magic and physical damage. Refines add fractional resistance, get atleast +C.

Tanks are always in demand, everyone wants to deal damage. A special few enjoys taking it.. Ever since I made my tank smith I never had a problem getting into a party and farming xp relevant bosses for hours.
I went with knuck tank tho.. because it has 3 safe words (flinch, tumble, stun) in case the Dom boss got carried away..

 

Been thinking of going with mtl stats as i already has a lvl 155 bs with vit as sec stat.

 

I'm not sure if mtl was fixed yet. When i was researching about tanks a lot of people said mental stat was bugged/broken. I can't confirm since I have no way to test tho..

 

with boss event i see a lot more impersonating tanks that die in a few seconds or those that dont hold aggro

 

Just as there are bad dps peeps out there there are also bad tanks... Theres always a bad apple mixed in a group...

 

Those are not tank, there are VIT blacksmith. And honestly tank is much more difficult than a DPS build, as they need to think for the right time on break skill, or manual dodge. Simply break skill may cause counter on boss or make the proration worst, manual dodge the attack may cause the team behind take the damage. Aggro control is another problem because I meet lot of team never enter to the guardian circle but keep spam skill then blame tank lost aggro. Mana manage, equipment selection and lot of thing need to consider before enter the fight, lucky toram didn’t have weapon or armor durability, else spina is another problem.

I use a vit blacksmith (knuck tank). It can tank bosses near its level. It can hold aggro and initiate breaks. It has the exact same common tanker skills. The only difference between the two is it has smith skills and tech gives mp which allows it to be productive both off and on the battle field, while mtl gives resistance.. Personally I don't even think mtl is worth having for interrupt (knuck) builds, because most ailments attacks from what I've seen are magic which is easily interrupted. If I fail to interrupt and end up with an ailment recovery removes it for free.

If a tank loses aggro its because a spammer spammed outside of guardian range. (I dunno why spammers do this guardian gives them -90% aggro AND +25 ampr) If the "tank" didn't constantly use aggro combos or didn't have guardian to begin with well thats another story..

 

Sad thing is, Guardian's Aura range is so short that only melee DPS can truly take advantage of it... Ranged DPS, especially Bow users, have to use different means...

Taking -Aggro% into account is a necessity for ranged DPS... sadly, all they think about is Damage, damage, damage...

Sneak is pretty much mandatory for Snipers anyway.

The only annoying ones are non-sneak/-aggro finale users that don't step in the guardian circle. Then proceeds to run like a headless chicken when they take aggro ensuring that you won't take aggro back because you can't hit the enemy. Then proceeds to blame you for being a noob when they die...

 

Indeed Guardian range is short, but bow users have sneak. If they're the spamming type they should have at least added sneak. (Sneak as a stand alone shortcut so the Archer's combo can still benefit from quickdraw ) I still don't see it as a tanks fault for a party members bad build..

 

Play as a tank is not easy this days... Im farming P.Avatar, I need to hold the aggro even my pt is full of spammers mages with high aggro finale, and this guys never stay inside the guardian aura...need to cancel boss attack, and try to keep them alive, every run they die so many times, need to hold the boss alone while I wait them revive... They fall... Finish the boss with only one DPS , for more than 10 minutes ...
Im not a pro tank, I was died when learning the boss pattern too, I think some people need to stop to complain about the tank and try to be smarter, help the party, learn how guardian work, try to not die every 1 minute with 1 hit, sorry for my bad english xD

 

Tank is the more hard and difficult class of toram. A real tank not just hold agroo also know when interrupt for save the life of a dps or when use buffs that help pt members. Tanks now days think all is about keep agroo meet alot of tank spamers that die with a breath of gespent or p. Avatar.

 

I've been making a tank recently (knuckle + shield), though I'm making this one to be more of a half DPS, half tank. my stats are full AGI>VIT, which I feel is probably one of the best build types for being a semi-tank and a soloer. The AGI helps with dodging normal attacks, while the motion speed helps with avoiding red/blue area attacks and using interruption skills. The VIT obviously helps a lot with survivability. It isn't necessarily the best tank since they prioritize AGI over VIT, have to focus on dealing some damage, and can't equip too many resist% and aggro% equips because of critical rate equpment, but I've been trying it out recently and it works nicely, though I haven't tried it on the P.Avatar. Just an idea though that you might consider trying.

and about tanks demand, i dont know what have to say. First, they charge 10k Spina per win. Suddenly, the last time i was at P. Avatar, most of them demand 100k per win. XD

 

LoL, they're now charging for tanking. Resources isn't even a problem there as they literally give you a stack or two of Energy bottle per win. I guess tank is so in demand there that when I shout LFP, l always immediately receive a minimum of 3 invites.

Haven't been there since 2 days because I got what I want(THS).

 

i got HB and KTN. tbh, i was aimed THS, too. if i got that, i will reset my 2h to full STR>DEX. No more VIT. XD

We did a good job together, we were killing her in 4-5 minutes.
Yesterday with some random people it was around 10 minutes! People falling and dying everytime. XD

 

Surely you will meet non-sneak_attack range type with arm_break skill as his save skill for 1mp long-combo, pressing his skill button from afar(...good luck).

Pure tank has free 35-50sp to use for any skill that can help with tanking than what vit-bs tank has, so holding aggro is just fine. Toy hammer gives 100crit so you will need more resistance alone since 1h has much Ampr boost from Rampage(...decoy even double it).
