What is 3 lock, 4 lock and 5 lock?

Sorry for this noobish question but I do not really get these 3 lock, 4 lock and 5 lock services in synthesis.

What are those terms anyway?
I don't do dye so I am very clueless about that stuff.

 

Each time you synthesize 2 equipment together you can choose among these 5 attributes: Appearance, A Dye, B Dye, C Dye, Stats.
3 Lock means you can choose to guarantee that 3 of those attributes will be guaranteed on the synthesized product. Same for 4 and 5 lock...

For lock 4 100% u need lvl 200 synth proficientcy and take all synthesis equipment skill

 

Isn't 4 lock synthesis prof 150? And 200 is 5 lock.

To increase synthesis prof, you need to synthesize a lot of items, usually revitas. I don't have a synth char myself so I don't really know what's the best way to achieve 100 prof.

It is costly as after reaching 100 prof there are only a couple of recipes that will let you go over 110 synth prof. And for 150 prof youll have to waste a ton of orichalcum ore (16k ea) to make orichalcum

 

How come ori ore and ori itself has same price per pieces? :0 ori at sololo is 16k. The f 16k for ori ore. Is it necause of the rarity of drop?

 

Because you need 10 ori ores to make 1 ori. And ori recipe is the only way to reach 150 prof atm. Thats why its equal or when supplies are low, higher than sololo ori. Also ori ore is hard to farm on normal days (drop rates on rhyhorns and clockworks are sh!tty) so most often they hit lower prices (about 1.6m per stk) during events only.

16k price is only during download event. Other events that drops ori ore, the price is 20k. No event price = 30k. Sold mine several days ago for 25k each.

You need about 33 stks.(estimate) of Ori ore to unlock 4 lock starting at proficiency 125 so about 58m(DL event) - 99m(No Event) to unlock 4 lock.

 

Such a bloodspilling price. Just reached 100 prof recently an might soon or not reach 120 prof. But seriously ore is the last recipe to raise prof at 125+? and that price is so.... *Sigh* I guess I'll just stick to 3 lock atm

 

Why the rush? There will always be new recepies in the future. And even with full everything 5 lock is still a gamble. And ever since 2 lock era there is always a way to lock everything(ofcourse it does cost some dyes and stuff but it is cheaper now than it was) and since dl event have just passed dyes are still resonably priced. And with 2 abc dye and 3 lock you only need to lock 2 in the final synthesis which is a costly app and your costly stat.

 

Btw if two equipment has the same looks and both has 1 dye, you can skip the first step then proceed to the dye step and can combine the 2 dyes without gambling the stat? I mean the next step after choosing dye like what stat to choose. In 3 lock of course. Idk if that works

 

Yes, that works XD. That's what we usually do if you can't do 4 lock .

 

I think your senario is this:
App+(dye a)+stat
App+(dye b)
With the gears above you can combine it as it is since you only need to lock dye a,dye b and stat. That is the usual 3 lock gamble less way. If you want, you may add dye c in the mix but sadly the dye c need to go to the gambling table. If you can manage to have 4 locks less resources is needed to be gambled.

If you don't wanna gamble dye C, you just have to spend some more spina to get dye C on both equips. I myself find armor dyes to be uninteresting since everytime I change armors I have to let go of the app :v

 

Based on my above statement and rough syth calculation, and the fact that we are just using 3 lock only... At least 1 dye c needs to be gambled(or any other dye in that matter) a 2d+3d is the best senario for a 3 lock alchemist. If you use (app+dye abc) and a (stat+dye abc) you will only need to lock 2 in the final synth. This of course is best done by a 4lock synth(no gamble duh!)
The best route is to get and be content with 4lock for now. Until we get the lvl 200 cap that will open the rest of the skills needed for a 5lock gamble-less synth, you need a good rabbit's foot, a horseshoe, sacrificial chicken and a SuzukiP worshiping idol to always pull a 100% perfect 5 lock.
