Hello, new to the game and just jumped in but do have some question (that I have for every mmorpg I jump into XD)

    1. How is the tank situation here? Are tanks needed a lot or is there going to be a lot of soloing where it won't work out so well as a tank?
    2. Is the content solo or group focus at different stages of the game.
    3. Is it advised to make a farming class to fun w/e else I wish to main? (on same account or should be on different accounts?)
    4. How does the class system work here? I randomly picked a weapon but it did say I can change later. (Also can i change stat/skill if so what the cost?)
    5. Anything else I should know.

Looking forward to playing the game and thanks for any help!

1.capable tanks are always in demand

2.Mostly party oriented, as the game is basically a grind to win with boss battles

3.Yes, you are strongly advised to have a farming/blacksmith class if you want to earn the in-game currency that is Spina, which basically everything. Its not an absolute necessity though, you can still earn Spina but just not as efficient. You can unlock more character slots with orbs, which is the micro transaction currency, you'll get plenty of free orbs so its not pay2win game

4.There are main weapon and sub weapon, your class is basically determined by your main weapon and the skills that comes along with it the exception of hybrid build. But generally you can have all the skill combination that you want. Skills could be weapon-restricted and some can be used by all type of weapon

    5. Leveling up would be your priority, get to level 150 so you can unlock tier 4 skills. You can unlock each skill tree by buying the book at library, the price will increase the more variation of skill trees you have. Once you have a single lvl 150 character, all the tier 4 skills are available for all of your character regardless of your level. Joining a guild that could help you out is a plus

I'd recommend starting as a tank. You'll get the benefit of additional defence, HP and play a valuable role in a party.

    Survival is also improved.

Farming should come 2nd, you can't really jump into this game and start farming until you're familiar with the market. A lot of parties on Int 1 are pretty brutal when it comes to farming . And farming attracts a lot of the toxic player base, who are obsessed with spina efficiency.

If you’re talking about your account name, that stays visibly constant no matter which character you’re using, or however many characters you make or delete. People only see your account name. So if you like that, then no worries!

You can give your individual character slots name labels though. Those only show up if you summon your own character as a mercenary.

Yep, until you get new char slot, you're stuck with that. You need at least two charater slot to delete one of the char

You'll also get various books like "reset book" to reset your stats and "book of oblivion" to reset all your skills as you progress along the game, try not to use those immediately without researching your build first because those are rare items that can only be bought using orbs, use them wisely. The same with revive droplets, you can't buy those with spina, if you get defeated just go back to town and try again and choose easy difficulty, you would need the droplets on important battles like gem runs and other events

    1. Lower level bosses usually don't need a tank in the party. But higher level bosses amd event bosses mostly require a tank.
    2. High level and event bosses are for parties to farm. It is recommended to have a party while farming bosses because you can get an additional drop as rank reward. Farming mobs is better done with a party too.
    3. Usually, luk mages are required for every player to farm mobs (luk mages are not recommended for farming bosses). That is, unless you're just as lazy as me.. I do have a luk mage but I almost never use it.
    4. You can use any weapon you want. But you need to learn skills that your weapon can use. Some skills are usable by every weapon, some are only for a weapon/a few weapons. You can change stats by using a Reset Book, and change skills using a Book/Notebook of Oblivion. Be careful as they are quite expensive, and you only get one of each from emblems.
    5. Don't spend your free orbs on avatar chests. Most of the time you'll actually get trash avas. Boxes that aren't guaranteed to drop avatars are quite likely to drop gems/potions/revive droplets.

Personally from my own exp and opinion, i hope you didn't start off with katana character.
I started with katana, it is very hard to get party from event boss (they are usually "anti-melee") unless you have lvl 4 skill or top notch slotted equipment (means you need alot of spina which 99% beginner doesnt really have.) If you have started with katana, try to find a good guild which help. Good luck and enjoy the game.

You can equip any weapon and learn every skill you want so you're not really stuck with Katana. Though skill points you've already used might be wasted if the skills you added can't be used by other weapons.

If you're a great tank people will worship the ground you walk on. Haha tanks are rare and even moreso are capable tanks. You will never struggle to find a party.
Some people even pay up to 750k for tanking services if a special event boss is around. (Like P. Ava for example)

There are quite a few builds that might tickle your fancy 1h+shield, knuck+shield, bowgun+shield, staff+shield are the common ones. Different tank builds specialize in different things, knucks are best for breaking, 1h for aggro, bg for ailments, staff for support.

Pure tanks either use vit-mtl, or mtl-vit, while utility tanks (vit smiths) use 250 vit, 100 tech, rest goes to dex/agi.

Any link to guide on these builds I can look into? I personally a tradition 1h+shield guy when it comes to tanking. I like pure tanks so I guess vit or mtl, how different are they? At least to me mtl on first glance sounds like would make lot of fight easier without worry about status but how often is that a thing? thanks!

I went with a knuck+shield tank myself. Mental offers 75% ailment resist if 255 points was allotted to it, while the other 25% can be filled with gear and xstals. I haven't tried mtl on any of my builds so I can't really speak of its ease of use. Being immune to stun, tumble, flinch, etc would feel like a dream I'd think.

I haven't really looked at other tank builds except for a bg+shield that bago2 uses.
