state of magic skill in this game?

    popular physical build:
    katana - tenryu build
    knuckle - chariot build
    sword - meteor breaker build
    halberd - dragontooth build
    bow - crossfire build

    then what about the popular magical build?
    only finale??
    why is toram seems to focusing on releasing physical skill after physical skill?
    where's blizzard? meteor shower? lightning bolt? ice spear? inferno? fireball?
    i'd like a magic skill that cant be used by all weapons like in this current situation, maybe release a new magical weapon along with the new magic skill tree?? the weapon could be orb / grimoire / wand, etc
    i also heard about the new weapon, warhammer? another physical weapon and skill again?

    They really need to make a summoner class that uses Tomes and orbs. All summons will deal magic damage.

    They also need to make a close range magic class that uses barehands XD

    After seeing decoy being a thing, making summons are a really possible thing since it could be like decoy clones with not as broken stuff.

    You have forgotten 1 magic build that still exist.

    Storm build. Usually storm-luck.

    why not buff-up the MD class weapons?

    To answer your question, Mage is kinda weird right now. It's not that it's unbalanced it's just nerfed compared to how op it was. Mage has Finale and it's still a good skill with decently high base damage but the smaller hits got nerfed leaving the main hit the higher dmg. It's still pretty strong but the smaller hits lure too many things for farming high levels now and also lure extra mini bosses while miniboss leveling/farming. Otherwise it's still pretty viable and good for the proration since there's a bunch of physical players running around. Mage is like other classes with main combo being impact>finale(smite)>mp charge/ender. If you decide to try the mage, stat distribution would be int>dex unless using queen staff then could probably do int>luk if you wanted. Mage has many useful skills and easy mp charge skills. Also you can play a semi tank with mage by subbing a shield and putting some stat points in vit or sub dagger/arrow. Mages make good breakers/stunners because of all their infliction's kinda like bow/knuckles users.

    1 high power burst skill for each weapon skill tree. 1 "build" for each of those.
    because the physical skills all use different weapons and techniques. magic is magic. that's it.
    magic skills change their name with the element of your weapon. the ailments inflicted by Javelin and Blast also change.
    unlike weapon based techniques, like fencing, magic does not require specific tools. but the power is weakened if you don't use a magic weapon.
    since all sub skill trees have at least one restricted skill, it's possible that the 4th tier priest skill Judgement will be restricted to Staff/MD/Knuckles.
    plans for 'Warhammer' were never officially confirmed. we got Halberd and Katana instead. Hunter, Magic Blade, Dark Power and Assassin were added, and next are Dancer and Ministrel.
    hammers are swords and maces are staves. another weapon type is very unlikely.

    the way magic skill tree works right now is the root of the problem because it can be used by all weapons
    a grimoire weapon would be cool tho

    1H+MD is another option, but it's super hard if you try to utilize it's Magic side

    Potentials :
    + Magic Critical (100% magic crit is possible)
    + Physical proration from physical player in the PT
    + Quite effective on elemental bosses

    Obstacles :
    - You don't want to use Finale here (What's the point of using 1H+MD if you're going to play the same way as Finale Mages, but with even less damage)
    - Your main DPS would be Magic: Burst. The thing is, it's bad if used by MD (more power on Staff). Even critical Burst by MD is nowhere near non critical Burst by Staff
    - Very bad on neutral bosses

    It will have a chance if the devs decided to buff MD. Like, more power and less cast time on some magic skills (Burst especially), or better yet, make a new magic skill tree for MD

    Honestly they could use another mage skill tree with around 6 different physical classes and additional physical trees supporting them the magic side is lacking a bit here. With md mostly used for farming and magic warriors not really being as common adding atleast an extra magical tree would add some variety .Playing physical dps you can borrow other physical skills but mage we really only get one magical tree other that we're SOL here.

    Magic here in toram is the one size fit all(well all-most mostly) multi tool it covers farming, dps, mp management, and debuffs(javelin is a very useful debuff tool for elem ailments to deal with the most hypo alergenic bosses) aannd of course proration.

    Btw, is there a way to boost finale problem rings? Like additional damage?

    Wouldn't it be crazy cool if there's a black hole skill so that the mobs can be finished by finale's center hit? No, Not like storm. The one that continuously pulling the enemies

    If they just made a big 7 line elemental skill tree and called it Elementalist. We could call it a day with magic for a bit.

    I wish they would change the fact how majority of single target attack are slow :rolleyes:
    the only single target attack i use is javelin cos the other 2 has cast time of 2 sec wtf :mad:
    it's especially worse now that i reset the skill tree to have lvl 10 storm so i can only use arrow and javelin for single target. But i have bought all 3 lvl shot skills so that will help .... but still have only 3 single target skills suck really bad. I know mage is supposed to specialize in aoe and mob farming but still........ i love playing mage but....:(

    with 1k cspd it becomes 1 second for Magic Arrows, then Chain Cast will activate and cut the cast time of the next skill in half.
    since magic is slow, you will find it very convenient to hit multiple targets ;)
    how about Magic Blade skills? they are all single target and you can mix it with Blade skills, which are fast.

    yeah i know about chain cast but im only at lvl 60 and while free reset was ongoing i reset it and put 10 points on Storm cos i want farm mage but i now i kinda regret it? i mean it farm really well but when i want to leveling it i realize how ineffective it's. Thankfully i have merc friend at lvl 178 lol

    i have shots skill so when i have more points i will add few that i can use but about the magic blade.... i somehow forgot to learn it during free skills period lol i got several skills untill lvl 3 but i didnt take that one too :fail:

    Almost everyone use impact, so the majority of toram characters are mages
