A rant and search on correct ways of tanking

Spina is barely a problem for tanks. You don't even need slotted gears most of the time. You only need decent refinement, at least +C for shield, armor, and add. If you know how to play properly, you're set. Tank is one of the easier roles in this game, and it's also one of the classes which doesn't require a lot of skill points.

 

Can you change/add the poll choices?
I want you to send to cuervo jail rather than azkaban.
By the way, since you are lowbie(thinking that you dont have T4 skill), i prefer sword for you to gain knight skill (it will help you to gain more agro)

Dont mind me wrong, there (maybe)instance that you will get pt with t4 spammer and managing agro using other skill(w/o knight skill) is kinda hard i think since you can only have t1 or maybe t2 skill. And also keep using astute and max it (cause it gives you +25 crit rate) and lastly, you cant do more because of your level, so have time on searching food buffs that gives you

If you have that much money, and think that going to lvl 75 is kinda long and hard, buy "dark energy" and get the blood sucking skill (forgot its name), its only t1 skill, you can use it as substitute on p-def's heal.

 

I think that the Boost Skills are a waste of skill points for a low level character. If anything, you want the MP Boost, but even that is a waste since it only gives you 250MP for 10 skill points. You can just get a +250MP xtal on the cb instead. =.=

This is the most common traps of the current open skill system: New players will invest on skills that they fill in a need, which they didn't know can be fulfilled by other means like potions, xtals, and correct gears.

I suggested Assault Attack to be one of your main focus because it is a low tier skill that you will use even if you reach the current level cap. It provides some form of interruption w/ guaranteed Knockback effect at Lv7, and inflicts the slow ailment on your target which is always useful to help you and your party survive most fights that have highly mobile bosses. (*cough*like Mauez*cough*)
In the case of Provoke, you want it Max level coz it reduces its cost down to 200mp instead of your current 400mp. Heck, even at Lv6 it costs you 300mp.

 

I levelled up a lot today, did main quest straight for 3 hours. Well, the story has plot holes and more plot holes, still it was a bit enjoyable now that I can use mercenaries to attack. I've taken Provoke to level 10 first, and it's been acting as my first skill in most fights. I rarely have to use it again though. Will need to fight in a party to actually go test out how long the skill will be able to keep the aggro on me on average. I also levelled Assault Attack to 5. While Survival Skills may not be that useful, there will be skill resets in future right?? I can just use those. And the extra 1000 HP increased my HP to more than 4k, which is enough to save me from every boss I've faced, unless they have goons around them- The floating Empress and Boss Roga. While I understand Boss Roga and the mobs surrounding it chipping my HP off slowly, what I don't get is how Empress does twice the damage that I have as Hp

 

As a pro tank in many mmo's i personally do one handed with shield with max str and spilt crit and vit stats i think its the better tank over mtl due to the fact you can solo fights (some fights are longer then others) and dont rely on other people for damage as much, sure you need more skill with this choice and you wont be able to out damage a good dps but it ensures you wont need to always rely on your team and it speeds up killing some boss's with your team since you won't be seeing 1 damage over and over you will see a few thousand hits in there normally. Like when i was under 150 i was doing about the same damage sometimes more then my gfs bow char intill we hit 150 and she got crossfire and then it was rip me for attacking ranking on boss's, but im bringing this up just so you know you dont need to play the meta mtl tank in my opinion the damage tank is better just need more skill to use, anyways good luck with your adventures in toram ;D

 

That sounds like a hybrid build. It sounds useful, but I'm sure I want one for full tanking only. I'll create a mage farmer too and a DPS character but after my tanks done.

 

It sorta is but you can use it for full time tanking and your able to deal some damage too(its my only tank not going to make another tank ever) like you still have the main stuff for tanks just you have damage as well

 

This kind of build ia good tbh since I also have this kind of character which is a semi tank tho the playstyle kinda needs knowledge and expertise of boss patterns and timings.

MtlVit tanks is kinda the easy route for tanking, not worrying tumble, stun, flinch and ailments is too good and godly which makes tanking easier.

 

correct once your knowledgeable of the boss's your good i prefer it over the mtl tank anyday ;D
