1H+SHIELD Tank Build 160 lvl cap (My build)

    Equipment>

    Weapon= Toy Hammer (+100 crit -150cdmg crit doesnt miss ^^)
    Xtals= Evil Magic Sword(+5ampr, +5cdmg,+%10aggro)+Nightmare Potum+Zahhak+Zega 2 etc i prefer aggro+ampr xtals
    *refine is not important, dont need dmg

    Shield= Dark General's Shield (boss version) Stats= Base DEF 20, VIT % 2, Dark resistance % 10, Guard Power % 30, Guard Rate % 14, Aggro % 30
    *Refine as high as possible

    Armor= Lil Empress Garb (500mp, +10 ampr, -%15 aggro, %25 phy+mag resist, -%75 resist to water-about water resist you can use another character's armor or a cheap tank armor like brigandine ns+C refine or player made)
    Xtals= Ifrid(600mp, %12 fractional barrier), Daddy Finpen(%6 phy resist+guard rate+hp) or other guard rate xtals like tortuga
    About armor you can use Brigandine(npc), TD dress(boss vers.), Holy robe(npc) but lil empress better for me
    *Refine as high as possible

    Additional= Charm Belt (NPC version= MaxMP 350,
    Magical Resistance % 20,
    Aggro % 30,
    Neutral Resistance % 10) i prefer this with lil empress garb
    or can use Circle of Order (Physical Resistance % 20, Magical Resistance % 20, Light resistance % 10)
    Xtals= Dusk Machina(%20 hp,%10 aggro), Grylle, Candela 2
    *Refine as high as possible

    Special=
    Dark Fighter Bangle (+400mp, +3 accuary, +%25 aggro)
    Xtals=
    Memecoleous(%12 aggro, %5 guard rate)

    Avatar Stats= Ampr+Resist+Aggro+Additional Magic+hp all alright

    Stats>
    • 255 vit
    • A bit int (for reaching at least over 220 mdef) / But useless with rampage, still usable with only berserk buff
    • You can give 10 str for not dealing only 1-0 dmg (if build doesnt have ems xtal)
    • Can give rest to MTL

    Skill>
    Blade Skills= SP 42-72
    • Hard hit 5-10 lvl(at 10 lvl it has %100 flinc rate) > Astute 5 lvl > Trigger 6-10 lvl (10 lvl for more ampr and motion spd) > Rampage 1-10 lvl(10 lvl for more ampr, but resets everything to 0 so it depens on your choice using or not) > Meteor 1 lvl
    • Sonic Blade 5 >Spiral Air 5 > Buster Blade 1 lvl (for hp regen but if you dont have enough sp can skip that skill at start)
    • Sword Mastery 5>Quick Slash 5>warcry 5>Berserk 10 lvl (10 lvl for more aspd and less def/mdef reduction-but rampage makes everything 0 so your choice i prefer 10lvl for aspd-)
    Shot Skills= SP 20-30
    • Shot mastery 5 > Long Range 5 > Quick draw 5-10 lvl > Decoy Shot 5-10 lvl (5 lvl min 10 lvl for longer clone time)
    Magic Skils= Mp charge 1 lvl - 1 sp
    Mononofu Skills= SP 6

    • Bushido 5 lvl > Shukuchi 1 lvl
    Shield Skills = SP 33-68
    • Shield Mastery 5 > Shield Bash 5-10lvl (10 lvl for %100 stun) > shield cannon 3 lvl (for combo starter)
    • Force Shield 0-10 lvl > Magical Shield 0-10 lvl (really good skills after update gives %10 magic and physical resist+def+mdef+1k hp if both 10 lvl, try to open it if have enough sp)
    • Protection 5-10 lvl> Aegis 5-10 lvl>Guardian 10 lvl (protection and aegis can be 5 lvl, 10 lvl for longer time)
    Knight Skills = SP 20-30
    • Assoult atk 5 lvl> parry 5 lvl > Perfect Def. 10 lvl
    • Provoke 0-10 lvl ( i dont use, many ppl use it tho)
    Survival Skills = SP 0-30
    • Hp Boost 0-10 / Mp Boost 0-10
    Support Skills = SP 20-25
    • Mini heal 5 > Recovery 5-10> Sanctuary 10
    Total SP= 143-247 (247 cant reachable at this point, focusing on important ones better)

    COMBOS=
    Opener Combo= Shield Cannon>Guardian(save)>Berserk(cons)>rampage(cons)>trigger(swift)
    OR
    Shield Cannon>Guardian(save)>Berserk(swift)>rampage(cons)
    OR Shield Cannon>Guardian(save)>Berserk(swift)>Trigger(swift)

    • Total 3 mp but recovers it so fast with trigger ampr and rampage(if wanna use)+berserk+guardian
    • High aggro combo keeps aggro at you
    Stun+Decoy+Sanctuary combo= Shield Bash>Decoy shot(save)>Sanctuary(swift)>Buster blade(cons)
    • A bit slow combo, can use sonic wave as starter if deadly boss (i use stargem for sonic wave)
    • Has good aggro too
    Flinc combo= Hard hit>Meteor(save)>warcry(cons)>berserk(swift)
    OR
    Hard hit>Meteor(save)>warcry(swift)>buster(swift)
    OR Hard hit>Meteor(save)>warcry(smite)
    OR Hard hit>Berserk(save)>warcry(swift)>trigger(swift)

    • 1 mp, flinc and high aggro combo can be spammable
    • If you need a no flinc combo can change hard hit with astute
    *Use perfect def at shortcut for blocking dmg
    I use a lot of different combos boss to boss for example
    but my main combos are black combos

    And feel free to share your opinion ^-^

    My Equipment is
    Toy Hammer + EMS (fullcrit and %10 aggro+5 ampr)
    Dark gen. SHield +B (%30 aggro+ resist from refine+%10 dark resist+def/mdef)
    Lil empress garb +B +(choosing xtal for it) (%25 phy/magic resist + 500mp +10 ampr, resist from refine)
    Charm Belt+B +Dusk machina (%30+10 aggro, hp, %20 mag resist, %10 neutral resis, resist from refine)
    Dark Fighter Bangle +Memecoleous (%25+12 aggro, %5 guard rate, +400 mp)

    Thank you very much for this build , i have been confused all over this week after resetting my stats and skill because of my failed tank.
    Please keep updating this thread bcoz this is very very helpful for beginners.
    And if you could add more like step by step from 0-160 .

    why do you even care about your def/mdef if you use rampage / berserk in your combo o_O

    My knuckle tank still has 9k of hp :p . Btw, what about binding strike ? That skill has same aggro output like pdef (If success on blocking ) right ? About recovery skills , should i max recovery skills ? or just stick it with only 1-5 sp on it ? Thank you .

    Edit: yeah rampage makes 0 but berserk doesn't so still can be useful with only berserk, sorry about before

    berserk lowers %45 of total mdef (i tested it with 5 characters) so it is still effective

    you can see berserk difference from my stats

    you can max it because at 10 lvl longer buff duration and lvl^2 mp recovers on ailment deleting. So if you have 10 lvl recovery and remove ailment you get 1 mp back

    And about binding strike, it acts like 500mp skill(aoe) (200 from base mp and 200 from skill effect) and effects physical proration. Ofc it is usable but i dont use, i prefer using meteor or buff skills(warcry, berserk) or decoy, sanctuary mostly for aoe aggro. And i try to keep trigger buff active for motion spd so if i try to add binding it makes another physical skill and messes proration. Also I use additional magic and more auto atks for helping proration.

    hmm i understand you meant which skills first which one later well, i can start from 114-115 lvl cuz main quest can lvl up up to 115 lvl so starting at that point would be good

    You can start with red skills(143sp) and then when you get more sp complete some skills to 5 lvl to 10 lvl(like hard hit or shield bash or decoy)

    My phone isnt so good so while capturing video it is lagging. But sure i'll try to share, i was tanking at goldoon today killed25-30 times

    I think i will try this build. My knuckle tank lacks of motion speed and most important is aggro. Plus i m really bad when comes to tank multiple bosses.

    Rampage sets everything to 0. Gloria, Reflex nor Berserk won't have any effect.

    Also, don't include the equipment refine in resistance as that is calculated differently.

    oh yeah i calculated wrong/it effects step by step or wasnt paying attention that time :/ , will fix, thanks for information and correction :)

    and i should have said can use rampage or not it's not necessary i like it's effect and lowers def/mdef to 0 but still tanky edited that

    So, my tank (150) right now is using rampage, after read this i think i want to get buster. But can you tell me what the main use for the skill? The buster, meteor, decoy. Thx :D

    It can recover hp and a 7m (a bit ranged) skill and 3 mp so it has alright aggro, u van use in combo or not it is up to you. i wrotr my combos with/without buster. You can open if you make good combos in ur mind with it.

    About decoy(has good aggro and op ampr) i use it with stun but at hard bosses like goldoon, proto, mozto i prefer a ranged skill at start to not get ailment or fatal dmg
