a Bunneh Tank (1H Arrow + BS VIT) 105 update

Let me dump everything i know about resistance here
Note:-everything is tested at gs and for physical resistance so i assume that magical resistance works the same
One thing can be said for sure a % of resistance means that the dmg of that specific category will be reduced by that %
For e.g. Dmg taken from gs with no gears at all:-363,435
Dmg taken from gs with no gears after using stab proof sheet(5% physical resistance):-344,413
Dmg reduction by resistance = 100 - (344/363)*100 = 5.007%

So with that thing in my mind
I did some dmg tests with two sets of gears

Set1)the resistance gears
Refined marble shield+C
armor with physical resistance7% tortuga xta and refine+C
Brigan helm 5% physical resistance refine+B
Mistletoe talisman 4%physical resistance
Total physical resistance 56%

Set2)non resistance gears
Marble shield no refine
Knight armor drop no refine
Golden sword add no refine
Dex talisman
Total physical resistance 0%

With these two sets i go to zotka ruins to gs
Comparisions set1 vs. set2
Dmg taken by set1 from gs last auto attack:-145,173
Dmg taken by set2 from gs last auto attack:-291, 349
Dmg reduction by set2=100-(173/349)*100 = 50.43%

My conclusion:-Resistance acts in parts.

Now there are two big skills that are very famous amongst tanks which are known to increase resistance by "50%"
I am gonna expose these skills known as protection and aegis

Dmg taken with no def gears from gs:-363,435
Dmg taken with no def gears and using protection:-254,304
Dmg taken with no def gears and using aegis:-417,500
Dmg reduction by protection:-100-(254/363)*100=30.02%
Dmg boost by aegis:-[(500-435)/435]*100=14.97%

My conclusion:-aegis and protection do NOT give 50% resistance....
They give 30% resistance and -15% resistance each
I dunno if this was nerfed but these skills giving 50% resistance is wrong info

Other raw data which i wanna store here and let someone else make stuff out of it since its giving me a headache:-

Dmg taken from gs with set1:-145,173
Dmg taken from gs with set1 and protection:-91,108
Dmg taken from gs with set1 and aegis:-171,205

Dmg taken from gs with set1 and protection and stab proof sheet:-85,101

 

Guarding generating aggro now thats the first time i have ever heard that ._.
Can you link me to the source/jpwiki or tell me how you tested it?

 

We are talking about a game developed by non-native English speakers who had their game content translated. It could've been worded wrong. :v
Like, it could be that Aegis and Protection increases your current resistance +50%. So, if a player had 56% resistance like you posted earlier, using Protection will increase it by 28% more; which is close to the 30% figures you are seeing.

 

sounds interesting. i need to gather my guildie to test that hehe.

this build isnt depending on big hp. its not even guard dependant. my char have light armor mastery for evasion. ^^. ik its not the ideal tank, i just wanna utilize my bs vit into a tank.
refinement on armor, hat and shield reduce damage. DEF stat is useless but refinement truly works. thats why shield bearer is more tankier than this build. but in term of aggro control. i still think this build is slight better than shield bearer. and one of the advantage is this build can gain aggro from 13m ahead just like bow user. pretty useful when u tank nure when youre still inside eye aoe area.

this is also true.. lv diff between us and monster determine damage amount.

 

Like i said i tested protection and aegis WITHOUT any def gears
Without wearing any armor/add/shield with resistance stat max hit gs did:-363,435
Without wearing any armor/add/shield and using protection max hit gs did:-254,304
Thats 30% reduction
Resistance always comes in the form of %resistance so there can not be a percentage% of a percentage% stat

 

Nope it was 30% with and without shield only 2dmg difference because of shield def
Try it without any equipment at all just bare handed no armor no add no shield
And 2nd try equip shield no refine no resistance

 

My full resistance set after equiping dmg from gs:-145,173
My full resistance set and protection dmg from gs:-91,108
If you consider after equipping refined gears and stuff yep its 37%
100-(91/145)*100=37.24%

 

Guardians aggro generation is pretty huge its bugged a bit at the moment but you should try it
For me shield users have the highest aggro @.@

 

aggro is determined by how many mp burned each skill... and guardian burn 600mp by itself.
it generates aggro more than smokedust and sanctuary combined. ;-; trully a aggro getter skill..

it turns out this build is working ^^.
succesfully tank jade nmare + gem run without dying

 

Tanking jade is very easy with cheesecake
I am gonna hoard few stks of them for use after event ends

 

yea. ikr. ^^ cheesecake, wind gem, aegis and protection gem. 1 whole package for nullified jade dmg.
even nightmare jade + gem is easy.
