A mage hybrid idea

    I saw some ideas lurking in the forum so I also want to share my idea about a mage hybrid. My idea is similar to cella's idea though but my goal is to lower magic resistance of bosses.

    My idea is making a dps mage wield an arrow as a sub weapon, instead of a plain dagger to benefit from status ailments such as slow and paralysis.

    The following skills that i have in mind are as follows:

    Magic skill tree lv3: (64sp)
    Magic Arrow 5
    Magic Wall 5
    Magic Blast 5
    Magic Storm 10
    Magic Javelin 5
    Magic Lance 5
    Magic Impact 7
    Magic Mastery 10
    Mp Charge 5
    Chain Cast 5
    Power Wave 2

    Archer Skill Tree lv3: (32sp)
    Power Shot 5
    Moeba Shot 5
    Paralysis Shot 1
    Bow Mastery 5
    Long Range 5
    Quick Draw 10
    Sneak Attack 8-10

    Survival Skill Tree lv2: (15sp)
    Safe rest 5
    HP Boost 10

    Priest Skill Tree lv1: (1sp)
    Holy Fist 1

    A total of 129-131 skill points is needed to get the basic skills.

    This build will use mp charge lesser than other mages who rely on mp charge. The idea is to make it wear a light armor, use speed pots, use 1mp storm combo and while storm is not yet finished, this build will use normal attacks to recover mp (if Quick Draw is not in effect) while lowering mag resistance.

    For the combo:
    1mp storm aggro: Moeba>Para shot(save)>Impact(consecutive)>Storm(smite)>Holy fist(consec)
    1mp storm aggro remover: Moeba>Para shot(save)>Impact(consecutive)>Storm(smite)>Sneak attack(consecutive)

    For the equipment:
    Elemental Staves/ MOD 7%int10int7%matk(1/2slots)[♦Demons Gate, Nurethoth, Int+2]
    Armor (Light Remodeled) 7%int7%matk (1/2slots)[♦Nurethoth, Boss Roga, Int+2]
    Curled Horns (Zaldo Crafted) (1slot)[♦Ancient Empress, Int+2]
    Philo Ring (1/2slots)[♦Ooze, Nurethoth, Int+2]

    Cover nurethoth xtal's -150cspd with cspd potion so that your cspd will not reach negative 200+. This mage will be a bit mobile than others since it will not rely on mp charge and also this mage will be 8m away from the boss, that'll solve its def and mdef deficit. What do you think of my mage idea? This is my first time writting in the forum so sorry idk how to write things properly >…<. Please share me some of your ideas about my hypothetical arrow mage thanks :)

    Lvl 1 sneak is not gona remove any aggro-get it to lvl8-10 atleast

    Nice combo. And just as Bowguy said up there ^ You'll need to level up Sneak Attack to 10. Your combo creates almost 1000 aggro points. But what's the point of removing only 100 aggro from it?

    Another thing, if the build is meant for avoiding aggro why having HP Boost and ◇Roga? Better just have Roga but MP Boost instead of HP. Or you'll need to be recharging on long runs (bosses with too much hp) and the charge is only at 5.

    Npc precaria helooo long time since we chatted forums xD.
    There is another thing which I was gona test bt never git the chance to; according to Caskadia sneak had a hidden effect to remove all agro from shot skills for 20 secs. Not sure if it meant aggro from status ailements or skills themselves.
    That could also be nerfed or changed by asobimo by now.

    Note ull need to add crit rate to this build if ur gonna rely on auto atacks...
    Or miss miss miss...
    And again....been done....

    Interesting point there. I didn't read that post but right now I have a free character slot, I'll test if that's true or it still works as we always thought. I'll update you tomorrow. :)

    >…< HP Boost just in case youre aggroing boss Precaria san :) Also Roga xtal is only recommended for 2s arm >…< (since 2s is so expensive, i decided to add HP boost >…<) and lastly MP boost, my char have mp around 500mp at lv53 (currently lvlin it up :)) which will suffice i think with the help of quick draw and ampr. Im kinda undecisive if i should add sober analysis :p i think itll help this build too :)

    Youre right firefox san >…<. Though with aspd pots(750aspd) and with a light arm (around 100-250aspd?) youll be able to spam a lot normal attack and also idk if its true but missed attacks are said to lower magic resistance, (an old pt in sg told me to just snipe, attack and just keep attacking even if it misses for lowering magic resistance) with regards to mp recovery, i think ill look for more possible mp recovery other than relyin on mp charge :)

    Firefox san :) you and i have the same idea >…< though during cap 65 my main idea is lettin a 1h full dex warr wear an arrow :p i didn't know that mages can also try wielding an arrow as substitute to daggers, cuz my idea before i tried staff + arrow is actually staff + dagger assuming that throwing dagger (at lv10 will not consume any mp) can be a combo opener, hence 0mp combo but it wasnt allowed by the developers >…<

    spike dart is better as opening skills. it goes only 8m, but it slows (100% at lv10).

    as for the arrow build:
    i like the idea, but you shouldn't bother with defense.
    light armor+arrow will pretty much negate any extras you put there. even resistance and hp won't change much.
    some hp is good for normal monsters, but bosses will always kill you.
    i have a light armored int+agi staff-dagger evasion magician and getting more dodge and eveasion is much better than defense.
    for bosses i use vita+II, to survive unavoidable hits, but gear stats are better invested in evasion and skill points for fast revival.
    play dead lv10 cuts revive time by 50% ;)

    For the combo:
    1mp storm aggro: Moeba>Para shot(save)>Impact(consecutive)>Storm(smite)>Holy fist(consec)

    for the first combo it will be a 2mp combo since you have not used all the saved mp from para shot (3mp)
    try this: moeba(1mp)>para save(0mp)>impact cons (0mp)>stormsmite(2mp) HF nothing/swift(1mp)
    this might help you how to use cons depending on the position/sequence:
    1mp>1mpcons(0mp)>2mpcons(0mp)>3mpcons(0mp)>4mpcons(0mp)>5mpcons(0mp)=1mp combo

    Thank you dude :) though the combo is really 1mp if HF will not hit :) so the idea is to move away from the target >…< and with regards to the aggro remover combo im planning on adding hf as the last skill so the combo will be canceled too. Btw save makes mp cost 0 for all the skill after the saved skill while weakening its dmg by 10% per 1mp and doubling the mp cost of the last skill in the combo.

    I see though just a precaution tho, you can still accidentaly hit HF. hehe about save tag, it doesn't make the next skills to be 0mp cost, it depends on the mp cost of the skill save-tagged. try saving a 1mp skill followed with a 2mp or higher mp skill, you will notice it will increase in mp consumption. using save tag is like reversing the mp cost, instead of consuming the mp cost of the skill, it will be stored for the next skill to be used instead of your mp. Also the decrease in dmg is not 10% but -80%(1st skill next to saved tagged), -60%(2nd next) -40%(and so on) -20%(and so forth) :bloodtrail:
