Anyone done a build like this?

So I have been thinking about trying a build, at this point everything is theroy and has no testing on my part. Its just and idea that popped into my head

Bow gun as main weapon
Dagger is secondary
Dex based
Remaining points split between agi or crit
Depending on play style.
Shot skills, dagger skills, tamer skills survival skills, hunter skills.
In my mind it seems like a a build that could work.  thoughts on the build? Should I put in the time to try? Any key points you would change or do differently,?

 

I wouldn't really wast any of my time with double throw since it barely deals any damage; plus, for it to even be remotely effective, you need to have a high evasion rate.

 

Aside from that the concept I've laid out should work well? Any other changes that should be considered in skills?

 

Ditch the hunter skills and use the sp to max mp boost and amazing throw

 

Im sorry, i may be inexperienced for this but wont hunter skill be useless unless you use bow?

 

Why 10 on poison?

 

They're still useful with any weapon, just as long as you are using an arrow, but that doesn't mean that not equipping an arrow will make them completely useless, though an arrow should probably be equipped anyways if you're using them.

Poison can do a decent amount of damage now ever since its buff a few weeks ago. A lot of builds have been using it ever since, and I've seen some people deal up to 1100 damage per hit with it.

 

A bit related but does amazing throw proc on the dagger evasion thingy?

First time I see this hybrid. I wanna see how it turns out..

 

OH bg dagger I so wanted to rebuild my old one but completely forgot about it as the meta started changing.

Remove double throw and make poison dagger lvl1 you really dont need poison dagger max lvl to just inflict poison even at lvl1 it is 77% chance to proc and damage wise it doesnt do any damage with full DEX build so yep no need lvl10.

Take spike dart lvl10 instead its the skill that does highest damage for a full DEX build and mp wise it will do more damage than gatling with amazing throw it is 1mp yet so fast and packs so many hits.

A basic sniper combo like moeba + impact(save) + snipe(smite) + ender
replacing the moeba with spike dart will increase the damage output to a noticable amount. It can infact beat other bowgun snipers that do not use elemental arrows with the same gears.

That being said you should get impact lvl7 some sp you can save from:-
--Make moeba lvl5 instead of 10
--Do not take the dagger passives as they are not that powerful for full DEX (more to this later)
--Remove hunter skills they are really not that good right now most of them require arrow to get better boosts.

When I said more to this later I also need to mention which stat you gonna take after DEX.
If you take STR which I personally recommend you would get overall better damage for all skills due to the stability and cdmg.
If you take AGI it wont do any good to your main shot skills and spike dart BUT it will boost both gatling dagger and hidden arm. But the main problem is for hidden arm you need high aspd and tbh bowgun has the worst aspd gain out of all weapons with AGI these skills are honestly much better with a full agi build like knux or halberd.

This build is the niche yeah but its definitely not a weak build I can say for sure if you focus on the stuff that bowgun can do better with you will definitely make a powerful char.

 

For combos I'll have to do some research and see what people use in similar builds and substitute some skills to fit the build along with some trial and error of course. As for magic I had planed on doing sort of a anti-mage character as I already have an arrow mage so i was looking for other options did some research found dagger halberd and dagger ohs, but saw nothing about this build so I thought I'd try to create something new or revive an old build that was forgotten.

 

Okay, lemme start (without reading previous comments excluding the OP)
1. No Amazing Throw 10? You run Gat, and considering you go Agi/Crt, I could see that damage being fat
2. Why Hidden Arm-MailBreaker 5? If you don't max it proc rate is meh. Also you have Quickdraw, which kinda kills the point of Mailbreaker (which only works on Autos)
3. LongRange 10 why? I mean, if you're gonna stay 8m away at all times, just a practicallity thing for me.
4. Double throw? Dude, unless you're evasive built that aint useful for ya. Even then, nah fam
5. Poison dagger 10? I get it as combo filler, but unless you got some hot Int that poison won't be more than a mild inconvenience for bosses.
6. You do realize that Sunrise damage becomes hella boosted once the monster is asleep, right? Why not, idk, get sleep trap. I mean yeah, it won't work point blank, but hey.
7. Boi, bullseye is a bread n' butter fam. Thing is like Trigger on THS, an old tier move that can bust hella fat nuts on the enemies. Same with rain (if done right)

 

Long range skill permenantly boosts 8m skills by 10%.......... No need to stay far yourself.

 

Omg, I learneded a thing.

 

Will take all information gathered and do a skill tree revision based on the general consensus from everyone's input. Based off of a quick overview double throw will be removed amazing throw will become 10, and poison dagger may be reduced and there will be a revision in hunter tree and dagger passives once best course of action is figured out.

 

Get lvl10 spike dart trust me it gets HUGE boost by full DEX.
Even better than gatling for this build tbh.
