I just made my tank last week and my experience is basically only york, venena and Titeres (plus some leveling bosses that doesn't actually need tank whatsoever). Failed miserably on megiston but I only had few runs before it ends...
What's interesting about playing tank is that you need to notice bosses patterns and adapt the combos accordingly. And you basically always on alert its hard to get bored. I could farm longer compared with my mage that just spams finale

 

I have the same build as yours but i have impact, javeline and recovery@10 so when i have a party with full phyisacal i can prorate
255mtl and 167 vit
But as soon as they see my main weap BG, they doubt, and always ask. Are you really a tank? And the i answer with try me

Adapt combo = true

Farm longer = true not because we can take more damage.but the enjoyment of having all said above factors put into play.

Actully.leaning to magic skills now. But i dnt want to use my sp atm.
Before i have 2 tanks
Bg and staff. But with staff.my prob is chrging mp.even with maximizer release nw. The point having to chrge during a boss fight = not that great. Even made my staff tank an ampr type.but the prob is = "miss"
So having all that. Asked around.
I think i found the best tank that fits my gameplay

 

Yeah I understand that completely, I'm also using staff tank at the moment and the frequency of "miss" is irritating, especially against high evasion bosses like ornlarf and gwaimol, I once did a run with ornlarf and I had to use shield bash more than 10 times to get a hit to stun him lol, the moment I switched my staff to diver's bowgun I managed to stun him with the first shield bash, I like mpcharge+maximizer but like you said it's sometimes difficult to predict the right moment to do maximizer without the boss(or his minions and other mobs) interrupting you with flinch, tumble, etc. i feel like decoy shot with bowgun is better and more efficient in terms of ampr regeneration than mpcharge+maximizer. If only asobimo released a 100 crit staff with decent ampr

 

Well i hoped for bg with all crit and tadah aso delivers.dnt lose hope. Sometimes (or most) aso tends to troll us.(seashell app lol)
And yeah.decoy really is helpful.just as long u use it with speed pots.im trying to add more ailment resist to this.but atm.its quite interesting and funny sometimes.esp at venene and inflicting thumble skill.the other tank = thumbled, me autoing^^

 

Does decoy shot copy the effects of speed pots?? I thought it only copies the original aspd and ampr of the build without pots....

 

As per skill tree list
Skill Effect:
- Places a decoy that auto attacks as long as the main target is within its range; full Attack MP Recovery and Aggro applies, but the decoy doesn't prorate
- The decoy will attack based on your ASPD, but has a minimum auto attack delay of 0.001 seconds
- The decoy lasts 10 seconds (level 1)/ 12 seconds (level 2)/ 14 seconds (level 3)/ 18 seconds (level 4)/ 22 seconds (level 5)/ 28 seconds (level 6)/ 34 seconds (level 7)/ 42 seconds (level 8)/ 50 seconds (level 9)/ 60 seconds (level 10)
So it is based on my aspd. If ill use quick aura and giga my aspd will be at 1446. But since it has a default of 0.001 sec. You can still see the difference. But as my test before replying here. Having to use just quick aura is enough to gain decent ampr. I just use giga if incase i cant cast decoy.

 

i think meta tank will be bowgun tank from now on, given the range helps tanking so much, and ampr is not problem with decoy

 

It really depends on how a person tank i guess.coz having the advntage to tank short and long range saves you and your pt alot of stress hahaha .so dnt miss the chance to get a divers bg. Miss this chance to get 1 = you cnt follow this ampr+agro+ailment tank. Imo lol

 

yeah, thats the shortcoming with this build, it needs a limited-time equip, well bg tank will be rare thats why you need to promote this build often so people would accept that bg tank is official now lol, maybe share on facebook too so many can see it because not many people use this forum or even know that forum for toram exist

 

It is still possible without Divers, you just won't have 100% hit rate interrupts which kinda sucks I guess. Just using Decoy, Provoke, and Perfect Defense. Long range decoy is good.

Yes, Decoy provides AMPR even if attacks misses or gets evaded(don't know if it's fixed now though).

This is a bit better than Sword tank in my opinion. Only downside of Bowgun tank is it doesn't have 100% Flinch and Tumble(very important on Gesp 2).

Would be awesome if they released a "tripple icecream" esque bowgun for merc registration purposes.. ^_^

Yup still works that way, just tested right now. Missed and Evaded attacks of Decoy still generates AMPR.

 

oh i see, btw is decoy will double your ampr? like if you have a total of 30 ampr, then decoy will give 60 ampr??

 

Uhmm it will not double your AMPR per se but if both of you are attacking then that's basically doubled(30 for you, 30 for your decoy).
