Bowgun or Bow for a pure sniper?

Can anyone give me the advantage and disadvantage of both weapons ? From what I see, snipe has +100 more power when using a Bowgun than a Bow. Which is better for a pure snipe build ?

 

Bowgun has less crit but high dmg.
Bow have high stability & average dmg.

 

Bows also get a higher ailment infliction rate.

 

Umm what did you exactly mean by less crits? If I am using the same equipment with the same stats, bowgun has less crit rate?

 

Snipe's crit rate gets reduced when you equip a bowgun.

 

Bows are the main archery weapon,
they are the only weapons to use the full potential of arrows.

Bowguns are utility archery weapons.
they only get half the stats of arrows, but they can also use any other sub-weapon.
attack power comes at the cost of effect (lower range and status ailments), but they have higher speed than Bows.

since Bowguns use only 1 stat to raise atk and accuracy, which also happens to be the secondary stat for magic power, they have much more freedom in their stat choice and can be adapted to any style.
but you do not intend to use this utility and only focus on archery, then Bow will bring better results.

Bowgun:
Snipe (400 + atk ) *11 , 10% chance to armor break , -25% penalty in crit , lower stability , 1 dex : 4 atk ratio , 50% benefit on arrow , can equip other sub weapons
Bow :
Snipe (400 + atk ) * 10 , 100% chance to armor break , no penalty in crit , higher stability , 1 dex : 3 atk ratio , 100% benefit on arrow , can only equip arrow as sub.

Technically dps wise , bow should be higher especially in long runs , meanwhilw BG can explore other roles such as a BG tank which can tank and dps at the same time.

 

Atleast bow will guarantee u 100k+ damage most of the time if u have 100% crit rate. Damage of bowguns range from 2k to 300k sometimes. 200k+ is like a lottery. I put my stats and gears on coryn.Club and i found 60% stability with bowgun while 95% with bow. I shifted to bows few months ago. Yes but bowguns are good for low levelers.

The rest can be easily observed through ingame testing.

Is the 25% reduction in critical rate true?
I'm confused with the description of the skill since the "critical rate reduction debuff" was placed on bows and not bowguns, according to the skill description both in-game and in the web.

Omg ever since these extra descriptions were placed ppl are more confused than before
It says "REDUCTION on critical rate debuff" on BOW. Meaning the negative -25% on bowgun is reduced on bow. Reduction of negative = postive. At lvl10 on bow the skill gets back +25% crit rate so bow has more crit rate than bg but who knows after new skills are released snipe might become irrelevant
