Brawler Guide! : UPDATED

HEY EVERYONE

You can call me Fey/Cakes and I’m gonna share my brawler guide.
I have been playing as a brawler since late Beta so I have deleted and remade my character over a gazillion times already and this is pretty much the build that I am comfortable with.

DISCLAIMER!
This is not the holy grail for all brawlers and I am a firm believer that your character should be a reflection of your own play style so feel free to edit and adjust the skills to accommodate you.

WHY WOULD YOU WANT A BRAWLER?
Brawlers are good for people who loves ASPD but if you prefer high damage then this is probably not the best class for you. In addition to that, flinches, tumbles and stumble and cancelling AOEs, that's our main task. This is to ensure that our party does not get hit.

Smash - level 5
Sonic Wave - level 10
**The distance of casting Sonic Wave increases as you level this up to a max of 20M, credits to @F1R3D0G

Shell Break - level 5
Earthbind - level 5
**Your best AOE farm skill for farming non compressed mobs. I do 1.5k-2.5k damage on this.

SURVIVAL SKILLS
Safe Rest - level 5
HP Boost - level 10
Short Rest - level 5
MP Boost - level 5
Sober Analysis - level 5
**MP gained during battle will be seen when SB is added by level 1, 7 and 10.

GUARD SKILLS
Light Armour Mastery - level 5

MAGIC SKILLS
MP Recharge - level 1

btw Im also a crit type brawler and this is a build that I'm comfortable with. (with small differences tweak )

i was contemplating on whether or not to add my equips! but id like it if you were to share yours too.

 

Equip?
i dont have the fancy one and too shy to share it in a guide. (maybe via PM?)
most of them is standard equip for ASPD purpose (and good-looking purpose ^_^)

 

i agree for the good looking bit XD

 

good looking also have stun effect to bosses. the only one breaker passive skill

 

i love being a brawler too!

the rationale: poor attack damage? no problem, then i'll work on breaking and tanking as much as possible!
using mp regen on attack with the aggravate skill seems to allow me to recharge one bar of mp in 3-4 hits if no miss (forestia is a pain due to misses).
plus most of the brawler skills that cause flinch/tumble are 1mp. this way i can deal sonic wave -> smash combo to keep boss stalled while i evade and sidestep the attacks.

for me, i use mainly evade/dodge/mp regen/crit on attack equips
evade - dodge boss attacks occassionally
dodge - higher dodge, attack from enemy miss you
mp regen on attack - replenish mp bar for next tumble
crit - decrease chances of miss

stats (currently lvl 47; restarted the brawler again cos testing failed (last was 55). hopefully this will be my last brawler restart.. T_T):
agi - 100
crt - 30
excess points - 16 (still experimenting on how much crit is stable)

martial skills:
smash - 5
sonic wave - 10
martial mastery - 10
aggravate - 10
strong chase attack - 10

survival skills:
safe rest - 5
hp boost - 10

excess points: 12 (just in case there are other better skills to learn)

combo: sonic wave (consecutive) -> smash

Equips:
jamadhar - att mp recovery +2, crit rate +30%, dex +2, MP+100 (xstal)
storm dagger - dodge +7%, crit rate +7%, aspd +7%
self custom plate armor w crit stats - crit rate +5, crit rate+5%, aspd +5%
magic scarf - mp+100, natural MP regen +8%, attack mp recovery +3, MP+100 (xstal)
magic swordsman ring - att mp recovery +10, atk -25%, matk-25%, evasion+4 (xstal)

im open for critique as well, so i can improve my breaking skillz! pls be gentle!

we have similar skills and stats, but the diff is just our equips.
my armour varies depending on my mood HAHA but it's all light armour. i shift between crystal armour to aqua garb. i still havent gotten the ooze drop /sad/
and as for my ring, i use a speed talisman 11, tryna get a slotted so i can put an eerie in it. and my knux has a mino xtal.
acc depends as well, i go from fw cape and magic scarf slotted. just need gskell and then it will be solid XD

 

im curious why using g skell xtal? is your aspd not high enough? i think 1.2k is sufficient enough.

 

thats cool, i havent figured what xstals to farm for yet, so im currently banking on mp and hp xstals.. probably need to research more and plan for a xstal raid on specific bosses to spank.. rex/cakes, free to grind bosses?

ah i missed your post! lolz just saw this..!
btw, on the topic of forestia farming, i realised that 50 crt does it nicely against forestia (probably enough for now) i crt ALOT, and charge MP bar quickly (missing is a brawler's nightmare)
im only at 100 agi cos with equips i just hit 1k aspd and that is probably enough.. i dont know if having more aspd actually increases the actual aspd further yet. meanwhile, 100 aspd works nicely (since i dont need to be best DPS) i just need to ensure my team is supported by my tumbling and flinching using crit!

 

its ok np. however, 50 is too much i think. I asked several crit users (1H, 2H, braw - including me, archer), and i think its enough to put ~40-42 to CRT stat.

 

i see... 42 gives enough? i was doing very badly at forestia at 40 crt... thats why i added another 10 crt.. feels quite nice, but i guess its just IMO..
haha too lazy to restart for the 4th time! ima just stick to this build (for now! ~ until it starts eating at me lolz -> quest for the ultimate Brawler! XD)

 

Yeah. its okay. everyone deserve their own build though and its based on each player's game play
Since jamadhar comes out, people are putting their status to CRT more than before. I hope this weapon will not be a "1H swordie BD sword" for brawler

haha yeah jamadhar is awesome, with the added mp regen on attack as well as the crt at 30%, its a breaker's fave weapon atm
im kinda torn between the claw appearance (wolverine's claw lookalike) and tha jamadhar's original look...

 

I feel you bruh, as a 2H swordie (40 crit). it's a pain, but as a Brawler, I'm having much fun with this class. plus we can have those bosses on their knees (if not flat on their backs.)
