Evasion is the action of evading something
Dodge is avoid something by a sudden quick movement. It means evasion and dodge is almost same. Go back to kinder !diot. Simple comparison you can't evan understand. Stup!d

evasion is different than dodge in toram.

if youre talking about the principle of using an agility based character means to not need a shield, then thats just your subjective viewpoint.

dodge = miss only no animation
evasion= evasion (side step/back step[for daggers])

for me i like knux shield the most since with the new rebalance force shield and magical shield is pretty worth it (10% resist + 500hp each)
also with pdef its pretty useful with new bosses who spams alot.. also when u equipped shield itll give u +25% resistance which is nice.. thats just my insights its all upto players playstyles

 

Dodge is when enemy hit got "miss"
Evasion is when there is animation where your char slide away from enemy attack. It cancel auto attack (and combo, cmiiw).

Basic dodge calculated by your "flee" and enemy "hit".
While evasion calculated by your "evasion" rate and enemy "anticipation" (if there is any)
