1. What increases evasion rate? AGI or DEX or none of the above?
2. Is it worth maximizing?
3. Any ideas about an evasion-type tanker?

 

1.) Doesnt increase by any stat.
2.)I can reach almost 60% evasion rate without reflex more than that will be pretty tough and you will need to adjust your gears.
3.)Evasion type tank is pretty good if you wanna tank bosses that do evadeable fractional attacks (e.g caspy, nightmare potum, bkod) for bosses that do very strong magic attacks (e.g jade, sg) guard rate+resistance tank is better.

 

how did you reach 60?

 

Gears that give evasion% try searching them haha some of them are impossible to get rn because they were event gears like gladiator armor so you can actually go even higher to like 75% without reflex.
Knux + dagger has a bit higher but they wont have access to guardian skill so rip aggro.
Thats why i use mirror shield (evasion10%)
Though tbh if you manage to get some resistance and hp as a tank and wanna go evasion route you should just get reflex lvl10. It harshly reduces def/mdef so resistance will cover up for it. With reflex it multiplies your total evasion rate so you will reach very high evasion even with just 40% from gears.

 

Can someone confirm that the Battle Skill : "Dodge Up" is not for "Evasion" ... It has nothing to do with Evasion

Theres some atks like the frog at icule lake it does magic atk but is dodgeable.
Most probably its a bug coz havent seen other mobs do that.
Tho cant be sure if no other mob can do it.

some attacks that look like magic are actually fractional damage attacks.
fractional damage can be evaded but not guarded

Afaik, evasion is not really worth maximizing, as it's unreliable and you sacrifice a lot of stats for it.

Gear that give stats such as +X% evasion also are not that powerful. For example, mirror shield gives 10% evasion, and is a very high stat for evasion. However, you only get a base 10 evasion when wearing light armor. So that 10% makes it become evasion.

Of course, you can increase your evasion through skills, such as light armor mastery, which makes you get 20 evasion when wearing light armor.

Reflex increases current evasion by 50%.

 

+X% evasion doesn't exist; or rather its not added like a percentage but like a flat number, unlike critical rate which has a flat and % stats who act differently upon each other evasion doesn't have this
The same can be said of guard rate; you can easily test this yourself

Go with a Marble shield +22/23% guard rate non heavy armour non heavy armour mastery

0*0.23 (cuz thats 23%) = 0 of course

Yet you do guard...

Thus making % in fact be a flat stat; the same can be said for evasion though thats harder to test

% and flat are quite often confused and it all depends on how you look at it; as for now I'd rather say evasion has a % chance of occuring but a flat stat for increase...That would be the summary I think..
