Exploiting Scammer Players

This information does not contain any IGNs that could destroy the image of a player and may result into forum ban or etc. It only focuses on the possible proccesses, styles and personalities of scammers.

Asobimo has not yet implemented a Report System which would help in warning scammers by banning their account for a specific number of time. This became an advantage to them as they are not filed with reports and are free to do what they usually do and we all know that scammers are now roaming in game. They usually shout services (No offence to those who are trusted) and they start of by acting as if they were giving a real service but will eventually exit the game. Sometimes they actually buy services and sell gem party to other players.

Let's expound this thought shall we?
Based from my experience, scammers dont use insurance in exchange of your item, it's your defeat and there is nothing to equally return the value of the item. That's why keep in mind to ALWAYS ASK FOR INSURANCE.

Let's think of different personalities that may determine what style of scam they are actually planning.

1. INNOCENT- this personality is a problem because it usually puts you in a thought of advantage. You know the value of the service and they pretend they don't. You'd actually lower the price and get hyped because of a big discount you'll be having, but you are not the one winning the trade because they have successfully taken your eagerness and you'll likely trade without thinking twice. DON'T FALL FOR THEIR INNOCENT PERSONALITY.

2. KNOWLEDGABLE- this personality is the exact opposite of innocent. This personality makes them the superior one because they would likely to educate you with the service you're buying and you'll feel a bit down graded and likely fall for it. You are the buyer and you should be the one in charge of the service and tell which is which in the trade.

3. ORDINARY- this personality is of an average person and it is unpredictable because comparing them to other people will be hard because they blend and become one of them. They would likely mimic the style of a regular service seller which would hide their schemes and make you feel comfortable in the exchange of items. Your trust is gained by stating complementary details of their service. Don't be fooled by their COMPLIMENTS on details that might caught your eyes.

Now that we have the knowledge of possible personalities. Let's discuss the styles of scam.

3 STYLES OF SCAM that actually or might exist:

1. SERVICE- this is the most used style by all scammers in the city of sofya. They will never provide any insurance for your valuable item and would likely runaway after trade. INNOCENT, KNOWLEDGABLE and ORDINARY personality all fits this style.

2. BUYING SERVICE- it is the direct opposite of service scam which they would trade useless items in buying the service and would ask for a good insurance to take off with. KNOWLEDGABLE and ORDINARY are usually observed in this style.

3. GEM PARTY- this is where they shout that they have a specific gem and sell for a high price. They would likely ask for a half payment of their offer and ask the other after the entry (this is a good call if you are really selling a gem to avoid free loaders).
Keep in mind that there might be a second party in the scam proccess to make this scam successful. KNOWLEDGABLE personality is the only one that could fit in this style

1°You can report people and 2° Asobimo doesn't make responsible if u get scammed becuz its a trade between players.

 

I have encountered more "innocent ones" where they say they are selling legendary piercer (or any other) and they will ask you for the price as they act like they are completely unaware of the standard price and obviously, u will believe u are at a great advantage here.
In this case, ask them how they got the piercer. There was this guy who was saying that he got a legendary piercer from Darts

 

Thank you for your reply this thread's purpose is to inform players about the scammer's possiblr motives and prevent scam in game.

It's really hard to believe they could get legendary piercers on the potum darts but getting piercer on it is possible though it is very rare. This is based from a guildmate's prize on the darts and she stated that she got it on the mana material on darts. We usually get revive droplet on the said material.

Insurance pisses me off

 

Would it be ok with you if you would expound your statement on insurance for further analysis? ^^

 

Because most of the time players who are buying, say, an extract, will ask for insurance that is worth more than their items, which puts me, the service seller, at risk, which is bs

In addition to this, I don't have random items to give people as insurance, and I'm not giving people the only gear I have, plus people are hyper picky about the insurance, it's a nuisance and I hate it

 

Sometimes its the other way around. Well you try to sell some service, they'll ask for insurance (spina/equipment with same value) then they'll just run off. Like they sold their equipment faster than the speed of light.

 

Well, I have received a one hand piercer from darts. Also they have shown you can get two slot piercer on the Japanese Lbi forum for toram.

「伝説の穿孔槌」のようなアイテムで二つ目のスロットを開けるためshoutで募集した時に、詐欺師がトレードを持ちかけ、

・担保なしだとそのまま持ち逃げ
・粗悪な価値のないモノを担保として渡して持ち逃げ
・慣れていない人には逆に担保をよこせという

というパターンがあります。

Due to scams, selling service in game is a gamble because you wouldn't know what the buyer would do with your insurance. The best way to sell service without insurance would be here at forum and discuss it with them because the penalty of scam here would be account ban or IP address ban and if you still tend to sell in game then try to find items that would equal to the buyer's item. Though the assurance would still be at your negotiation with the buyer.

 

I would personally only buy from people on the forums, you can't tell anything about another player or how trusted they are from Sofya, it is always a gamble but it seems like the forums would be safer

Yes that's a good decision ^^ and it is preferable in buying, sell items, services and etc on forum because it is the safest way possible

 

trust no one, that's why i love playin solo nosebleed sir ah. hahaha one other old way of scamming that some scammers still use and still have some victims (especially newbie players or lazy/sleepy players) is selling something cheap,trade,then cancel trade like it was an accident,and eventually changing the said item to another item with the same icon/figure whatever u call that when trading.
