Would it work since it does damage from the shields refinement?
Also it does not specify but I'm guessing its physical damage?
Could this add to proration damage ?

I mean vit mage with it and a few physical atracks could self prorate easily maybe?
(Does the prorate damage scale by the amount of phys/mag damage?)

Waste of sp imo, on my mage i have everything i need for lvl4skills, i have 46sp and i didnt even take the shiel passives, depending on how good lvl4 is i may or may not max them, but either way ill be getting them and the new heal skill

No because even with shield refine it still scales with ATK not MATK. You will be doing way less damage than with a physical character.

I mean yes... But why would you need to unless you are soloing the party always prorates for mages adding physical attacks would just ruin the proration balance that already exists not to mention you have to take hits to activate it or just tanking in general. In my opinion if you need a solo mage prorating, dagger is more viable coz of the 0mp throwing knife.

Dunno what you mean by this. If you mean the rate of proration change then nope its fixed change only varies between different bosses.
