I recently got back into the game and now all my builds are outdated. I do not want to use orbs to reset skills trees.

SO for example starting at lvl 1 how much will the MQ lvl me up til?

    Thank You

I've been doing MQ, and after killing Crystal Titan in Decaying Ruins I am level 122. I'm sure there's more quests ahead, so it'll take you to level 125+ or so.

up to King Piton (currently latest quest) you can raise a lv1 character to lv130.
the problem is that the last few bosses are very challenging, even on easy mode. the level difference will get bigger, so you won't get around some grinding in between.

That's better indeed. I just rushed to level 125 because I needed the PDef Skill and main quest was the fastest way to get to that. I'm stopping now to catch with the recommended levels with some boss fighting. I've heard on coryn that the best way to know that your level is low is looking at the recommended level of the boss you're fighting in main quest in normal difficulty.

There are just some points during MQ I just feel like grinding for levels is a chore, mainly during the quests right before Nurethoth that makes you go back and forth and is generally just hard to stand after 2-3 runs of MQ.

To Saham right? I'm more familiar with that place than I am with any other map. First you have to run back for detox gem and it's ingredients in the Fortress Arc then you have to go get the premeire gem before going to Vyshed Tainted Land. Then run along to Pino, Mauez and god knows who else to get it recharged. It's such a headache. I have never been dragged back and forth so much throughout the entire game. That chapter is horrible. Though Yelb is there right before Nurethoth.

At least nowadays we can use teleport tickets, skip cutscenes, and the dash feature. I remember doing the MQ several times before those features existed. Was such a pain. Also IIRC the Aranego fight used to be fixed on normal difficulty, and now it's on easy.

Aranego is that spider who appeared out of nowhere after Imitator right?? He got eaten in the end. I fortunately had my mercenary (Aria) with me then. So it wasn't as horrible. But my accuracy and hit rate on him was so low I wanted to eat my head along with his:fail:.
But it's true it's more convenient running around with dash feature, if you have it turned on. I didn't, and for a while I thought it was a skill I had to learn at Library like Shukuchi. I recently heard it was a feature in the update and I was supposed to have it already. :D

I feel the beginning parts of the story was badly paced at times but also had extremely easy bosses, and nowadays they have better flow to story in the expense of ridiculously touhou-esqe bosses.
Doing MQ is a great way to get to 130, I just wish there was less of a hassle getting to 150 where the Venena period of grinding starts. Just that doing it more than 3 or so times makes you kinda question if you're willing to go through EVERYTHING again to get to lv130.
It is very worth it, just short term inner screaming

Better flow but it still has a crappy plot filled with plot holes. And the bosses got so hard that I'm starting to miss Boss Colon and his one hit K.O. And the mobs. Don't get me started. Especially maps like Cuervo jail are hell if you're below level requirement. You can't run because you have to open the door and rescue prisoners while being chased by Lyarks, Golems, and Ghosts. What are we missing?? Robot executors?? Oh wait, they're there and after your ass too. With huge torture axes swinging around in way. (What is this, Resident Evil Secret Lab? Or Fighting Destiny?) Congratulations and good luck, if you go there and are below the level the mobs are, you'll need it.:rip:

If you don't know.. You could tap the doors and press action to break open the door (and it will make any mobs aggroed to you disengage). Same thing goes for the casks in Forgotten Cave.

Is that true?? When I pressed action while being followed by a mob I mostly started attacking the mob even if I was standing on top of the door. Forgotten Cave's Casks were easier since there weren't that much mobs and they were all in the same map.

Tap the door, although it's a bit hard. Keep tapping around the mid lower part of the door until the targeting circle appeared around it (and your Action button turns into a ? mark).

Personally what i always tell people is to use main story quest exp for levels that are annoying to grind out, if you can grind out the level and its not to annoying for you do so and save it for the later levels, i personally try to skip lynx and all characters since its a bit annoying and slow so i do main story with light grinding till about 50ish then i skip main story and grind it out then soon as i hit 175 i just bum rush the quests and end around 183 or so skipping lynx and being the same level as king piton nightmare/carbuncle which gives more experience since i'm the same level as the boss
