Hybrid Brawler Build (Tank+Break+Debuff+Support a.k.a. Rank Greedy Brawler Build) by~ NineArts

    you answered most of my questions well, except for the combos and a few other bits:
    -holy fist+smash(consecutive)+bash(consecutive)+shell break(consecutive)+heavy smash(consecutive) : total cost = 100 mp (8 cp)
    holy fist is just a skill to start with(since it has 100 mp cost) not for damage
    smash can flinch which will give chance for bash (slower animation) to land a hit and stun
    then shell break will inflict guard break(even for demon gate who's guard will rise when flinched earlier in combo)
    the heavy smash will land and inflict lethargy
    many status effects (especially shell break's guard break) + raw mp cost (1100 mp) + accumulated damage = AGGRO

    -(ignoring smash)sonic wave+bless(consecutive) : total cost = 100 mp (2 cp)
    sonic wave can give time for bless to cast
    bless at lvl 10 will heal 65 hp every 3 seconds at base (with no int) which will help heal yourself
    bless also will accumulate aggro (most people know this)
    using this skill at the beginning is a good way to catch aggro at start of boss battle
    then use periodically to accumulate more aggro, tumble the boss, and keep heal buff up

    -smash (not in a combo) : total cost = 100 mp (0 cp)
    just to use while other combos effects are on cooldown (tumble and stun)

    also about atk mp recovery
    12 (base) + 5 (aggravate lvl 10) + 2 (jamadhar) + 4 (ooze armor) + 5 (flower headband) + 8 (warrior bangle(3) w/ eerie xtal(5)) = 36 atk mp recovery per hit
    meaning that 3 hits will earn you 100 mp (you will only have one mp bar)
    with aspd due to full agi, atk mp recover is fast

    you can attatch an agi +2 (or two if dual slottted XD) to all other equips (except for the shield of course, and the warrior bangle which has an eerie equiped) and still go with a full agi build

    for hp
    1000 (hp boost lvl 10) + 300 (relief shield) + 200 (warrior bangle) + 500 hp (force shield lvl 10) + 500 (magic shield lvl 10) = 2500 additional hp

    for defenses
    you have full agi no vit, just rely on shield passive and hp and dodge rate

    for guard rate
    just like evasion, its reliability...good to have, but main reason for relief shield is hp and shield passive skill use

    for aliment resistance
    most aliment skill from bosses are special moves...dodge them by moving...or interrupt with a flinch, stun, or tumble

    for flee (dodge rate)
    light remodeled ooze armor with full agi...you'll be fine...

    for hit rate
    add crit if you feel like it...most evasion bosses such as forestia and astol are more easily controlled by archers using aggro control techniques (due to high damage output and accuracy due to full dex) rather than typical tanks, just ask @Kimesato ...and also you don't have to be perfect XD
    or...use accuracy pots...

    for mp
    you only really need that one bar with 36 attack mp recovery and high aspd...

    for aggro
    already explained in the combos above...of course any class build could always invest a couple of points in provoke...but i dont like that skill XD

    for hp sustainability
    keeping bless cast will heal you bit by bit even with no int
    add fighter's high level 10 (which recovers really really small amounts of hp while fighting, but is useful on build that avoid getting hit while fighting, and since flee should be high and interrupt skills are used you should be hit too much)
    also pots (since most people used them, but you probably wounldn't need them unless youre in a pinch)

    for aspd
    full agi (or mostly) and shield mastery lvl 5 is required to get other shield passive so reduction is that bad (can max it if you feel like it)

    for atk
    your a breaker/tank/support...dont really need that much atk...plus youre full agi...youre fine...

    for matk
    dont need and int (base heal for max level bless 65, think of it as your own personal natural hp regen)

    for cspd
    no need

    ok well my main reason for this reply is that i didnt feel that my questions were answered properly (it seemed like you skimmed my post rather than read it). I am not against your build.
    I am simply proposing a hypothetical build that will probably require a higher level cap (due to necessary skill points) to complete
    Please tell me if there are any errors i have made

    Also, this build is in no way mainstream...

    i did not bothered with other extra details, just a build that works for me after i have tested things.
    sometimes a small sacrifice or compromise is needed to get something better out of it. :cool:

    Can I change the 40 points in crit to vitality to increase tankiness without messing up the build?

    yep, you can go VIT on the 40 points.
    if you have problems with crit, just default to Jamadhar, there are only a few targets that have high flee (like Forestia and Golden Skeleton) that needs a boost in crit in order for auto attacks to hit them.

    What do you think of Heavy Remodel instead of Light? Brawlers seem to have enough Flee and Atkspd to burn a few.

    heavy kills your flee and atkspd. With enough agi and the right gear, atkspd can be regained, but flee...not a chance...

    with heavy armor, it's possible to create a heavy tank brawler relying on Guard Effect, at around 1300 aspd with light armor, wearing heavy armor will put you at 300aspd or less,

    which, is not really a problem if you have an alchemist that can craft mega potions cheaply, and add in a feather cape.

    and from the previous expanded discussion about Evasion I had a few hours ago;

    it came to my conclusion that going heavy armor build will be beneficial in the end, Guard Effect reduces incoming critical damage (look at Demon's Door lol) and also, aside from long combos that gets aggro (the higher the total MP Cost, the more aggro you get) every Guard Effect triggered also generates aggro (from a JP source).

    and because brawlers have the natural highest Tumble/Stun probability in game because of knuckles; Guard Effect, High MaxHP (because of Survival Tree, Shield Skills and Vita Plus II boost) and Interrupting skills are the best mix.

    not to mention there is a Lv.3 support skill Sanctuary that reduces damage depending on Max HP.

    so in otherwords i'll reroll a new brawler soon, still completing a different Hybrid build at the moment. :D

    Wow I didn't know that Heavy Remodel has extreme penalties.
    I noticed that your skill choice doesn't include Light Armor Mastery. Assuming that I won't get it too, is it okay to not remodel my armor? Is the extra def from non-remodeled insignificant? Is Light Remodel very important to high lvl Brawlers?

    the reason i remodelled it to light armor is for the Flee/Dodge (to get at least 400 Flee/Dodge) and ASPD increase (because shields have ASPD penalty) :D
    extra defense comes from heavy remodelled and hidden guard rate stat increase

    Does Crit% from equips(Jamadhar/S.Dagger/Craft) give linear value to Crit Chance? or only percentage of base Crit? I feel like I'm not critting as much as I'm expecting with 47%
    Forestia gives me too much trouble, more than any lv50 boss. So hard too keep Aggro when more than half of my skills are missing, and struggling to regen mp.

    remember:
    +3 crit = +1% crit rate
    +x% crit = crit * [1+x/100]
    +1 crit rate = 1% crit rate
    +x% crit rate = crit rate * [1+x/100]

    with jamadhar & s.dagger its like this:
    let c be crit rate (look at crit calc section to find this number) without equips
    total crit rate = c*1.4 (jamadhar) + c*1.07 (s.dagger)

    I see. So if I want to take advantage of Jamadhar, I need to invest on either putting points on Crit or equips with flat Crit Rate. Other than FWGarb, what equips do you suggest for flat C.rate, w/o sacrificing other stats too much?
    I think I'm going either 40Vit + Flat Crit Equips or 40Crit + Vit/HP Equips

    I'm not an expert, but player crafted gear first.
    If not then stuff like wolf garb (+4 crit), war helmet (+10 crit rate), jamadhar (+40% crit rate) or minotaur knuckles (+10 crit rate), storm dagger (+7% crit rate, if want a sub weapon).

    Stuff like that I guess

    Then again you could always do this...

    Minotaur Knuckles
    Elflame (as sub)
    Crit/Crit Damage Crafted Light Armor
    War Helmet
    Speed II Talisman

    with...

    Power Wave Level 10 from Magic Skills & Sonic Wave Level 10 from Martial Skills

    ...so you can become the "Burning Fighting Fighter"...never mind, please disregard anything that you read that may be ridiculous...cause it probably is...

    Question: does equipping shield make you unable to perform "evasion"? Even when you equip light remodeled armor?

    Yes I agree, I did some test in Roga with my new build Heavy Armored Brawler Tank the AOE Crit Dmg from Boss seems to be lessen than usual.
    My hp for now is 3516 lv73 Brawler and it's very helpful to have Shield Skill for this type of build +ASPD for shield user and also the DEF & MDEF skills

    later on i'll be posting some vid for Heavy Breaker Tank Brawler. To be honest I gave up being a DPS brawler since I saw your hybrid build. Right now I always look into your threads & it is very helpful!
