Ijime-kko Brawler Tank (the 'Bully')

    Samm here..!

    brawler's still my fave class even tho its the worst DPS ever... i love @equites build (blaster brawler!) cos it gave me some hope for the brawler, but im a true blue Knuckle as main weapon kinda guy...! so i guess the Evade Tank Build is what i've come up with!
    i build specific classes for its role, not so much always to get the highest DPS... in this case, my brawler is built as a tank, to make battles easier when a tank is needed..

    here's a build based on my current char with possible improvements that im considering (i.e. provoke skill, shield skill etc), should you find another form of 'hope' for your brawler (brawlers lets do a group hug hahahaha!)
    BTW, this build is not set for any cap. its aimed at highlighting all the possible skills that will make this build stable for the long run - maybe level 100+++ as the skill points are currently not enough. i have indicated by colour code the primary skills to get in Blue and the sub skills in Green, so exercise discretion as you level up your char as to what skills you ought to add. for this build to work, you need to unlock the skill tiers first, so if you are still on your first character and havent unlocked tier 3 (level 70), you wont be able to optimise this build (i.e. quick draw/impact/etc). this should be your second char (assuming you cap your first char (1st Char could be a farm mage maybe?)

    i call this build the 'Bully'... well the idea's simple. you got skills that draw aggro (pick a fight); skills that interrupt (and annoy the living lights out of the boss; boss tries to hit you, but you evade (special animation); boss cant do anything whie stunned/flinchlocked); while you side step the bosses AOE or run circles around him (meanwhile charging your AMPR); yet never running out of MP (energy) to annoy the boss (AMPR/Quick draw); you are usually in a party of 4 players and you gang up 4 Vs 1.. you taunt and provoke the boss (literally) while your minions (the other 3 players XD) do the dirty work... Toram's Bosses will hate YOU. yeah. you're the 'Bully'.

    NOTE:i hesitate using this name for the build...cos i dont support real life bullies, but the name seems to fit the playstyle...


    Pros of Build:
    high mobility
    high evade
    high AMPR
    high ASPD
    high HP
    Chance to replenish MP via Quick Draw

    Cons of Build:
    low DPS
    wastes ALOT of skill points to get the skills that matter =(
    costs alot of Spina to learn Skills

    Equips:
    Main Hand:
    Knuckle of your preference (Damage doesnt really matter, but if CRT build, go for Jamadhar/Drill, if DEX go for Berserker Cestuses)
    Off Hand:
    Mirror Shield (Base DEF 0, Evasion Rate +10%, Guard Rate +5%, Guard Power +5%, Aggro +5%)
    Armor:
    Oracle Robe (DEF 39, Attack MP Recovery 3, MaxMP +200, Cast Speed +100, Dark Resistance +5%)
    Additional:
    Mole Eyes (Weapon Atk +10% Guard Rate +10% Evasion Rate +10%, MaxHP - 10%) -> my build goes with this for Evades im using Quick Draw to supplement MP regen on top of the innate AMPR Brawlers have.
    or
    Magic Scarf (MaxMP +100/120, Natural MP Regen +8/10%, AMPR +3) -> if you want more MP
    Special:
    Dex Talisman/Agi Talisman -> i went for DEX cos DEX seems more flexible, my ASPD is already at 1.1k so focusing on mor DEX now.
    if you can slotted equips, all the better! i went with all MP100 Xstals, but you can choose boss xstals if you want to power the brawler up

    Stats:
    AGI until ASPD hits 1.1k -> approx 180 AGI (if you have AGI Equips, this can go lower)
    DEX/CRT - Dex for more accuracy/damage, CRT for more CRT Chance/Damage (mine is currently set to CRT 50)
    VIT if you want more HP (im holding this off cos im using shield

    Skills
    Main Skills to get (prioritize these first)
    Sub Skills to get (can consider these next IF you have enough Skill points)
    i suggest getting these skill trees in this order:
    survival - Hp boost
    martial - sonic wave
    knight - Provoke
    magic - impact/power wave
    shot - quick draw
    shield - force shield/magic shield
    the rest you can power up your char over time based on your own preference

    Survival 15
    Safe Rest 5
    HP Boost 10 (1k HP would'nt hurt)

    Knight 20/40
    Assault Attack 10 (the skill you use to get in close to boss, esp after you charge up MP via AMPR)
    Parry 1-10
    Provoke 10 (the skill you use to hold aggro)

    Martial 15

    Smash 5 (sub Interrupt skill)
    Sonic Wave 10 (main interrupt skill)

    Shield 25/60
    Shield Mastery 5-10
    Shield bash 5 (sub interrupt skill)

    Shield Cannon 10 (main Interrupt skill)

    Force Shield 10 (increase Def + HP)
    Magical Shield 10 (increase Mdef + HP)


    Protection 1-10
    Aegis 1-10


    Priest 0/20
    Bless 1-10 (Hp regen)
    Gloria 1-10 (increase Def/Mdef)


    Magic 42
    Arrow 5
    Javelin 5
    Lances 5
    Impact 7 (used to save MP of Provoke + tune Combo costs to 1MP) 1

    MP charge 5 (used to refill MP outside of battle)
    Chain Cast 5
    Power Wave 10 (used for kiting boss while charging MP with AMPR) 1

    Shot 20
    shot mastery 5
    Long Range 5
    Quick Draw 10 (supplements MP regen) 1

    Guard 10
    Light 10

    Battle 10/20
    Defence Up 5-10
    Evade Up 5-10

    Combos
    Charge to boss + Break + Aggro:
    Sonic Wave -> Assault Blade (consec) -> Smash (consec) -> Shield Cannon (consec) -> Impact (Consec) --> Manually Press Provoke
    tumble/break boss -> dash to boss -> flinch/break boss -> stun boss -> reduce provoke MP cost -> provoke boss

    do give me inputs so i can work on this idea! brawlers need more hope!

    i havent tested yet, only came up with the initial concept a while ago
    will do so later when im home after work and review it again
    more updates later!
    any one with provoke can confirm @Cella's question?

    Voke cant be combod but if u use impact last then manual voke it will cost 1mp

    Nice! When I was going through MQ my brawler was an Eva type, but I focused purely on Eva and dodge. My build was:

    Stats: All Agi
    Skills: didn't know much abt them but mostly knuckles
    MP charge 1.
    HP up 5 (.....I think..)
    Fighters High 5 (I'd run around and regain health mid battle, using sonic wave when the boss came within 5m or so)
    MP up 10
    Sober Ananlysis 10 (I think....)
    Def up 5> Dodge up 10
    Light remodel mastery 10
    Knuckles: Volcanic Claws w/ dodge Xtal
    Armor: FW Garb light remodeled w/ dodge Xtal.

    This was a while ago, so I don't remember everything clearly, but in quite a few boss fights that I solo'd (especially Mauez and Roga) they missed me as much as I missed them, which helped as I gained HP back. I was incredibly weak though, solo boss fights took 5-10 mins :(.

    Don't mind me, just wanted to share lol.

    im also having a brawler tank concept with sanctuary skill and quick draw. But i need to test its effectiveness against several bosses and to get support rank as well.

    Make sure u have high hp too Rex, sanctuary reduces dmg by 10% of max hp but cant be more than a 95% reduction, sanctuary also halves fractional dmg (if u have high hp) but doesnt work against fatal attacks

    is it needed to have sanctuary lv 10? i dont feel diff between sanctuary lv 7 to 10 except duration.
    i didnt aim to have 10k-ish tank like yours ;). what i have in mind is a decent/adequate dodge + evasion. and equip set of guard rate and magic resistance.
    quickdraw is needed because i dont want to use eerie/sroar and aggravate. but well this is still a concept.
    and also what @KokoBot. said about vit, i also have a hunch about that as well since several tanks build posted and need to look into it.

    I think sanctuary increase by 1% per rank so u shouldnt notice that 3% much but 10 does help, if ur goin brawler its probably best to get atleast 4k hp, but if u use sanctuary u will need atleast 8k+ hp for it to be effective, its still extremely effective below that just depends which boss etc, my tank atm can reduce 1.7k dmg and 50% from fractional dmg

    unfortunately this 'bully' only does well in a party (imagine 4 players gang up on 1 boss XD) cos the DPS output on this char isnt very strong

    good points @KokoBot.!
    just to clarify a little, the purpose of the combo is to allow the tank to take first hit by rushing to the boss before anyone else. even tho provoke seemingly looks like its casted much later, the fact that you release a series of combos earns you aggro.. the manually cast provoke simply seals in the aggro.. note the time cast from the dash attack to provoke is very short, you'd definitely have aggro before anyone else!

    the only skill here that costs 'alot' of MP is provoke (which is 200MP at lvl 10) the main idea is to keep provoke costs low, so that you can cast provoke multiple times, while keeping your skill spam going..note that most of the spammable skills here are all 100MP... With Quick draw doing its thing in the background, and the fact that the combo uses only 1MP bar, you can imagine having 100% aggro XD. AMPR melee attack (with long range) is only used if Quick draw doesnt proc enough and gets your MP low.. once you have 2 bars of MP, its probably enough to get you spamming skills again XD (just need to hope Quick Draw does its thing XD

    ah thats clever! inflicting status on bosses sound like a good fit with the "bully" concept hahah
    mmmm... need more skill points tho... level capped, but in need of lotsa points

    I dont think brawlers would need perfect defence if they can gain 1k+ flee, since they will dodge everything anyway.

    That would make his build unique. If he miss the timing using perfect defense, then dodge will be there.



    *You may have a different build but as long as you use a knuckle or martial skills, you are a brawler and we are brothers~^_^

    I still have ijimekko build since I made it cos it was my main.. but ended up shelved cos snipers became the hot topic, and then dual swords.. and then halberd.. still brawlers are my fave, now that tanks have the limelight due to the new gears and skills, I think brawler tanks could be the way to go!

    I was thinking.. since we have gear that gives aspd.. maybe a good mix of vit/agi (more to vit maybe since aspd can be enhanced by gear) to make the char more tanky HP wise..
