If you can see past the graphics then Iruna is a good choice. It has a great storyline and other Possitive aspects. I prefer toram for a few reasons. 1. It's where my guild is at
    2. It's got a killer Story line
    3. Dual Wielding

Both a good for various reasons.

Personally I have found Torammers more helpful overall, knowledge sharing and other forms of helps.

Welp story wise iruna has delved deep... Yep story is awesome as it progress... And its all connected to toram story and waay more content than toram

But graphics, gameplay, dev support almost everything is better in toram in other aspects...

If your interested in toram's lore playing iruna is fully recommended

Just gimme a holler during toram's MT i might be OL in iruna... Mostly catching up on MQ or trolling somewhere or giving free stuff...
(i don't give expensive stuff cuz am also poor... Mostly pots and starter equips)

Lol If you start Iruna now you'll spend most of your time sitting outside bosses waiting for a high level player to pass by and hope they help you run your mq. Not recommended unless you have some friends playing actively there.

Except for Iruna's main quest bosses where you can't set the difficulty to easy.
Back in my newb days, every main quest boss is a nightmare, lmao. Wait for days to level so I can keep up with the boss, hours of waiting for a kind-hearted high level player passing by then politely asking for help (in short, begging xD), bring tons of potions, vaccines, cures, millions of spina spent trying to beat a single boss.
But that's what excites me the most, and its story of course :)

I know this is an old topic but when I personally was looking for an answer this one was the first to pop-up for me, and now I signed up just to share my experience for seekers of similar question.

So in my opinion, if you were looking up for the story line, I would recommend to start with Iruna first since it's considered as the 'Past' for Toram, and personally, I enjoyed meeting some of the characters in Toram after knowing them in Iruna (especially in Chapter 5 <3)
But if you are only here for playing around and meet up with people (other players), then just go with Toram since its much easier game-system, and I found that the players were much friendly for new starters who never played before, while Iruna became full of old players and you may found it difficult to find players who starts the game just like you, seriously, Iruna is full with old players (who hit the cap lvl) or familiar players who are starting over. I used to play Iruna since 2013 (still have some screenshots) so I know the difference between now and then (I'm sure there are who knows as much as I do too ;) ), and I started over since I have IOS now and it is not possible to transfer accounts T^T so I suffered too much just to find help, and while doing so, I met only around 5 new players (like completely new to the game), but sadly they didn't stay much long.
