A lot of people have been using this including myself and most of us like it. I don't know if the buff from meikyo is also affected by snipe's crit rate reduction, but you only need to have around 100 (estimate) crit rate for your snipes to crit nearly 100% of the time, so it is nicer than having to get 134 crit rate on equips and stats. The only problem with meikyo + bowgun is that you can't do moeba shot> impact (save)> snipe (smite)> bullseye (consecutive), which is a lot faster than having to do moeba shot> smoke dust (save)> paralysis shot (consecutive)> meikyo shisui (consecutive)> snipe (smite)> bullseye (consecutive). The second combo does allow snipe to do more damage than the first, and increases stability & accuracy, but I don't know if it compensates for the speed loss. Meikyo does give -5% cdmg, but that's mostly negligible when you consider that you can get to 100% critical easily.

I just read @mayam s response on another thread that you need atleast 94crit rate.
My problem now is. Is it worth it sell my bow to get a bg? Is the damge compared to bow high? How about stability? Is STR adds stability to BG?

Currently bows are better because of their stability and the fact that they don't have a crit rate reduction with snipe, though I think the upcoming update will determine wether or not bowguns are better than bows, so you might want to wait. STR is a good option for bowguns since it does increase stability.

bow mightnot suffer from crit penalty like bowgun but newest bow has same stab as bowgun thats 50% , but damage-wise bowgun still wins, bow highest base atk stil 92, bowgun highest base atk is 130
    only saying lol

Yeah, but on bow gives 20% stab when u equip arrow. I just wanted to use bowgun cuz bow is to mainstream.

With Meikyo, you cant use Impact before snipe so no tumble stalling or magic proration before you hit with the snipe (though for some bosses the no tumble part is a good thing), but the crit rate is very good even with the Cdmg drop. Also when youre using it in a 1mp combo, it will attract more aggro compared to an impact combo. BG + meikyo is viable, but it would be better to wait for now if you plan on revamping your build when the update might hit soon, along with lv150.

I use bowgun just because it can equip shield lol. I like semi tank char too much. Stability is not a problem anymore if you add lots of STR 100STR = +5% stability after that para shot gives +10% stability at lvl10 and arrow with 20% stability will add half again giving total 75% stability. Any stability above 75% is good. High stability from these and high crit rate from meikyo can help overcome those cons.

There are also few unfixable cons tho which truly make bg dps down:-
--Smoke shot very low chance to blind so cant abuse the no graze/miss for snipe on blind target.
--Arrow rain is very bad for bowgun when compared to bow whose arrow rain does almost same damage as snipe. This can lower the dps when compared to double smite user.

So currently bow indeed is still the winner in terms of dps. I say wait for the revamp see if they make snipe no charge time or if the new lvl4 skill is any good and then decide or just make it without minding too much.

Well, If you really wanna add Meikyou into the common snipe combo, I think you'd have to switch from the 4MP combo Impact >Snipe(smite) >MoebaShot(cons)/Bullseye(cons) to the 5/6MP Meikyou Shishui >Snipe(smite) >Impact(cons). :V

Impact> smite combos are trash for dps anyways.

Here just made this video to show that 100% crt snipe is possible using BG w/o CRT stats

Slightly slow/old response but, that was your video? :). As one of the very few meikyo non-katana videos on youtube, I watched it a few times but you never proved with a gear breakdown...

In a slightly different vein, I'm quite enjoying meikyo bow-tana. Sure you can't equip arrows, but when you don the oni afro (+100atk) instead of gothic hat, the numbers speak for itself. ;)

Wouldn't the misses prove that it's not 100% crit rate? Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure 100% crit rate never misses and I saw a couple auto atks miss on video. ..

If aggro is a problem you can just use
    Sneak-smoke(save)-para(con)-meikyo(con)-snipe(smite)-impact(con)
Of course, using this you be ditching quickdraw and going for an ampr build.
(You can also shove a buff filler or moeba in the middle of para shot and meikyo for a 150% smitted snipe)
