Is the main quest a MUST on this game?(newbie)

Well, I have been wondering if the main quest for this game is a must to do because there are other MMO which you can skip and proceed to other ways of playing the game(dungeons,farming exp,)

 

it's a must to reach certain areas and be able to do some side quests but in General it's not really neccecary (it's easier tho and just once each Account)

Yep, the room with the fake Black Knight is empty until you get to that part of the main quest line. So even if you have teleports, he still won't show up.

 

You may want to push through the story quest for the following reasons:

-Good exp for little effort.
-Access to new areas.

Other than that, I couldn't care less about the story plot. I just skip most of it, since they ruined the story for me. So I am just going to cover my eyes at all the cringe story lines they spam out. Pretty sure they're just making it up as they go, doesn't feel like it is coherent.

Story telling is a dying art in the face of 'pay to win' business models.

 

Yes it is necessary to do. If you want easy exp and access to bosses and areas throughout the game without any problems. Also, the story isnt that bad.. In my opinion

 

Nisel Mountain is filled with toxic miasma until you defeat the dragon.
you can still go there, but it will cost you lots of Regera potions.
the Challenge Dungeon and most of the side quests are locked until you defeat the dragon.
the next wall is the empress. until you finish her quest, all elf related areas and everything after that is unavailable to you.
the next is pillow golem, he blocks the path to vished and the outer world.
and after that there is an event battle at the gravel terrace. if you didn't progress the main quest until this event, you cannot reach the maps after that, including El Scaro (2nd great town).

you can cheat your way in there by obtaining the teleport feathers from other players, but most boss rooms will be empty or locked.
you cannot get around the main quest

some good things about the main quest:
- you get lots of exp, every quest is a level up
- the story gradually gets more interesting, especially after the 1st chapter when you become a hero
- Pelulu joins you
- eventually Pelulu will fall in love with you
- the truth about the cataclysm is revealed =(^.^)=
- in the end you die (to be continued...)

Its a bit cringy on the early parts but believe me toram has a good plot line (especially if you played iruna)... Not as good as single player rpg... But its a lot better than most mmorpg

Heres a little background story mezzaluna was the empress who led the war in iruna (devastation was so great it created dimensional holes) in an attempt for immortality (was actually decieved) as punishment for her sins she cant die and even begged the adventurer to kill her at the end

And wheres the pay to win part of toram? Can't seem to find it... All you could buy from shop are xp/drop boosts, peircers and avatars, reset books ... And besides they even provide orbs and tickets, etc. for the free non-paying players... Also theres no gamebreaking equipment for sale like some other mmos out there

 

It's true! Toram is the (second) only ACTUAL Mobile Mmorpg I feel safe from IAP's.
And I really like Toram's story, a bit meh at the beginning, but music and imagination saved it for me!xD

 

Yah, there are also plot twist in the main quest which is quite interesting. The character that plucked out and released the mino is the same dude as the masked warrior and also the fake black knight. (dude must have a big paycheck having multi roles) he is not your nemesis in general but oddly enuf you keep crossing path, and im looking forward in meeting him again as another boss.

 

sounds like Ultros from FFVI
but he needs to be more chatty, like Ultros is.
but with his strong desire to fight with Balft, he is more like Gilgamesh...
maybe he will eventually say "It's morphing time!" and draw 8 weapons at once

 

Real Black Knight i think it is BALFT once he hit the unconscious state just what i think. guessing the next story line will be Dark Kinght and twilight dragon and how Main Hero become the servent of god hehee.
Would like if they can add some glow to the weapon that be interesting.

Yes. Because Main Quest gives you a ton of exp which can kickstart new Toram players fast to a good secured level
