Lol, SAO is the Twilight of animes.

 

No love of MMOs (or in twilights case, the supernatural) can compensate for either train wreck

 

To be fair, gonna play devil's advocate here considering I'm one of the more bigger SAO haters, the anime isn't THAT bad.
Just like Twilight, it's a mediocre series and the majority of hate comes largely due to the unpleasant fan base.
Just like Twilight, the fans kept over hyping it and fanboyed all over various anime discuss forums.
And if you said one bad thing about it...fans would bombard you with hate...@.@

 

Hahaha- I was mostly joking, but to be fair- both twilight and Sao are enjoyable on a passive and kinda slow day (the book Twilight, not the movie), but when they both become super popular and critically acclaimed- enough to attract a cult-like following - it can be a bit cringe :'D
Like for twilight- I can't take it seriously, same with a lot of SAO
They're both pretty ok, but sometimes I can't help but think of the genuinely clever and brilliant content that goes unknown ( u nu)>

People who agree! Yes, even though I watched both series and found good in both of them, Log Horizon to me was overall better and superior, like you said. It actually gave me that MMO feeling.

 

Story wise in the novels Idk about log horizon tho but 'The Alicization Arc' of sword art online was probably one of the best stuff ive read. It has so many content that even the 2 past seasons wouldnt even be enough to compare for it.

 

That reminds me, I actually need to start reading about the Alicization Arc. Reading this, I have high expectations of it now, lol XD

 

Well at least for reading id go with sao over Log Horizon but i quite like watching Log Horizon

 

I can't give a fair comparison because I haven't read either or watched past the 2nd season of SAO but I did love watching Log Horizon, how it ended however makes me think that it isn't actually complete yet and I'm looking forward to watching more if the anime is continued ^.^
