from the description it's say will have a chance to block attack by weapon..

So is it same like guard block and how many % chance of guard?

Bit different, it does not activate when guard triggers. So, I am only assuming here. That it only triggers after dodge > evasion > and guard have been calculated...so you now have a chance.

I am unsure about the % chance to parry (assume 10%?), as I haven't seen a description appear when parry is triggered (maybe we should email asobimo as a community and ask for that). I use it myself...but...it isn't a game changer.

40% chance to reduce damage taken by 20% at lvl10 if guard doesnt occur.
P.S. DONT QUOTE ME ON RATE VALUES! (40% is from a short test) RNG IS A TROLL

Hmm....if really 40% just for 20% reduce dmg , not effective...

If 40% chance to reduce 50-75% then it's good.

    Anyway , thx so much

it doesn't show a text, but you can still hear and see when it activates. it makes the guard sound and triggers the unsheathe attack. =(^.^)=

    edit: false info :p

a long time ago, it used to do that...
the 1h sword's unsheathe attack is very unique and good to see.

Translation: The developers are lazy trolls and dont take all of 8 seconds to type relevant skill information in skills. All because they're dumb enough to think people will buy orbs to reset skills that they were duped into messing up

ok, i have a character with Parry again.
this is what i found out:
    - it does not have an animation or sound
    - it does not show a text like Guard
    - it does reduce physical damage randomly(?)
    - it does not stack with Guard Power and other stats

the Melee/Magic Barrier stats also reduce damage without displaying an activation note.
it's likely possible that Parry works similar to those effects.
the damage reduction appears to be a %, but i can't confirm how much.
the activation rate could be random or guaranteed with a cooldown, it's hard to see...

So... I hate to necrobump but... I would really like to know how it works. I've noticed that after equipping apply level 4 parry that certain trashmobs(way lower in level than me) now hit for 1hp physical, but can still hit me for over 100hp with magical damage. Not sure how that might be affected by Parry but I'd like to know.

Edit: This was my first post ever. That's how bad I want to know.

Thats not parry thats just your high lvl directly subtracting dmg taken from mobs so of course those raffies and lavarcas at rakau plains will do 1 dmg only to a lvl100 char.

If you wanna test parry go to golden skeleton at zotka ruins and let him do his normal attack combo you will notice it shows 4 different damages on its 4th final hit because two of the values are reduced values by parry.

I suppose a little background would help. Level 52 Dualwielding, and have been playing for almost a week. I don't think I've made it to zotka ruins but I just let a Stone Soldier from Lutaros Cavern beat on me. Hits 40-44 half the time, and 20-25 the other half the time. Would the reduced 20-25 be the hits affected by parry you think?

Maybe, though you could only confirm this by resetting your skills points in parry to 0 (zero), and rerunning the same situation.

It is annoying to do, but it is best for someone like me who wastes money resetting skill points to test this. So you don't have too.

Unfortunately for the forum, I generally examine the stat point effects on skill damage relating to builds people aren't interested in for practical reasons...only because I have done all the typical glass cannon / crit / stat maxing and then got bored) . But, you do end up finding interesting game mechanics and glitches in doing so. Especially the avatar item effects...and item stacking damage glitches in numbers displayed and actual damage dealt, then applied / corrected.

I have some combat glitches I will share later, but I am so busy with my masters. The thought of setting up video recording on my phone is more anxiety than it is worth.

But, in regards to Parry. Just keep the skill for now, and if the 3rd Knight skill blows...consider dropping the tree, and just spam the toram support advise on what to do with the knight tree.

I don't plan on spending anything on this game unless I am still playing it after 30 days so I appreciate folks like you who put in the time and money to figure out how it all works. It would be nice if the game devs could just provide a bit more (more than zero...) detail but at the same time I realize that that might all be part of the plot to get paid from IAP.

Anywho, I like the game so far and will continue playing it. I'll keep an eye out for your glitch post =) Thank you

So parry won't work when you have guard? or it will still work as long as the guard is not working? It is quite confusing especially when you played games that has items or skills which can't be used/equip at the same time such is the so called orb effect. t

If guard procs it will disable the Parry's chance to activate.
