LVL 3 Blade Skills Rampage Walk Through, Damage Computations.

As an introduction to the skill, i'll quote Argo's post.

    Rampage
    Lv 3 Blade Skill One-Handed/Two-Handed
    MP500
    Hit Count: 20 hits
    Physical Skill
    Max Range: 2m One-Handed 3m Two-Handed
Furiously and consecutively attack a target. You need to be careful for monsters' attacks because the duration of this skill is long.
This skill deals 200% more damage on the consecutive hits when using One-Handed.
This skill deals 300% more damage on the final hit when using Two-Handed.

So as the skill says, It has a very long duration for a skill, most likely this is the skill that has the longest animation currently in the game.
and with that regard, people tend to hate it because they prefer fast clears and fast executions, to be "efficient", so to speak.

But it is one of the most powerful skills in the game. If a well built, Rampage Oriented player was to use this, it can surpass Snipe damage and Storm Damage since
Snipe's tend to rely on crit to access big damage
Storm needs to have the right amount of damage drop off to damage heavily.
So players will opt for Tempest Slash even if it has lower damage and higher mp compared to Rampage, the damage-to-mp cost is better on rampage.

    So onto damage calculation
I used the calculation from the link you gave me some time ago, and tested it with 80% stability, and no other deductions, only using a rapier @64 ns no stats. no armor, add or talismans and no combo used.
For 1h, let's say, your White Damage has a consistent damage of 1000 per hit.
    -SLv10
    first seven hits: white damage× 0.30 = 1000 + (1000*0.30) = 1000+300 = 1300 * 7 = total of 9100
    second 10 hits: white damage× 0.29 = 1000 + (1000 * 0.29) = 1000+290 = 1290 *10 = total of 12900
    the next two times : white damage×1.00 = 1000 + 1000 = 2000 *2 = total of 4000
    last hit: ( white damage+ 500 ) × 3.00 = (1000 + 500) * 3 = 1500 *3 = 4500.

    Total damage of: 30500

Now that is all just White Damage, note that white damage your White damage, if you have no additional crit damage, you have i think 150% cdmg, so you get 1500 crits.

    so taking the damage respectively.
    first 7 hits = 1300 * 150% = 1950 * 7 = total of 13650
    second 10 hits = 1290 * 150% = 1935 * 10 = total of 19350
    next 2 hits = 2000 * 150% = 3000 *2 = total of 6000
    last one = 4500* 150% = 6750

just the total damage of it would equal to 45750, now that is just using Rampage immediately.

    now on to 2h,
2h has a different calculation, and you can also notice that when applied.
so we will also be using 1000 as base white damage. for formality's sake.
    -SLv10
    first 11 hits: white useless × 0.18 = 1180 * 11 = 12980
    the following six hits: white useless × 0.17 = 1170 * 6 = 7020
    the next two times : white useless × 1.50 = 1500 * 2 = 3000
    last one :( white useless + 500 ) ×5.00 = (1000+ 500) * 5 = 1500 * 5 = 7500

    Total Damage of 30500.

as you can see, it is lower compared to 1h rampage.
    Possible reasons:
    You did not crit
1h rampage is more reliant on Micro damage(the first 17 hits) rather than macro damage (the last three hits especially the last hit)
now as a 2h, you will build pure STR.
so having 221 Str at lvl 80.
    your base CDMG is 150% and assuming that 5 str = +1 CDMG = 221/5 = +44 CDMG giving you 194% CDMG

    Recomputing again. would become
    first 11 hits: white useless × 0.18 = 1180 * 194% = 2289 * 11 = 25181
    the following six hits: white useless × 0.17 = 1170 * 194% = 2269 * 6 = 13618
    the next two times : white useless × 1.50 = 1500* 194% = 2910 * 2 = 5820
    last one :( white useless + 500 ) ×5.00 = (1000+ 500) * 5 = 1500 * 5 = 7500* 194% = 14550

    Total damage is 59169.
    Rocketing it so far.

now that is just with 1000 white damage. taking into consideration real time damage that would fluctuate between 1k-3k for 1h and 3k - 6k for 2h.
and that does not even include it being smited.

    Now onto usage.
the main problem why Rampage, even though a powerful skill, is not used that much.
    Reasons:
    Slow Animation
    most bosses have interrupting skills.
you like to get aggro. which makes you an easy target for interupting skills.
The only possible ways you can mitigate the reasons stated above are:
    Use motion speed buffing skills.
    use swift combo
use your rampage combo when you are not aggro'd
    Motion Speed buffing skills are:
    WarCry and Trigger Slash
you'd either opt for both with Warcry first then Rampage to increase motion speed and damage. Trigger last for enhanced motion speed for next combo. and ampr.
or Trigger first just for motion speed buffing Rampage on that combo, losing out on ampr. but utilizing damage for trigger. it may also eat up mp if you put trigger on 2nd skill

    Swift:
Swift increases the skill's animation. Making you execute it faster, make your character move faster while using that skill. But it does not reduce cast time. only skill animation.

    Using it while non aggro'd
the best way to use Rampage is to position your self from the side or behind the boss since most bosses have skills that cast in the direction they are facing. and also, When rampage is cast/casting/being executed, the skill will not stop even if the boss moves away.

    Possible Combos:
    for most 1h.
HH > Astute Cons > Warcry Cons > Rampage Smite/Swift> Trigger Cons.
    most likely a 5mp to 6mp.
If you want to use Impact.
Astute > Warcry Cons > Impact Cons > Rampage Smite/Swift > Trigger Cons
3 mp - 4 mp combo. which i think is better.
you can play around combos and combo settings. The combos above are the only combos i have tried yet.

    Pros and Cons of Rampage:
    Pros:
    High Damage Output
Can One combo kill Some Bosses if timed right.

    Cons:
    Slow Animation
    Prone to interrupts.
    high mp

This combo: Astute > Warcry Cons > Impact Cons > Rampage Smite/Swift > Trigger Cons
    For 1H = 100MP (tested)
    2H = 200MP
With Impact, Rampage's MP cost will be 250 => but rounding to 300MP
There is 1 Pros & Cons still missing:
    * Pros:
    - While in Rampage without missed you can deal DMG in every range (I think), mean even bosses moved 10m+ away from you, you still deal DMG to them
    * Cons:
    - If missed Rampage attack, you still have to complete all Rampage's animation with at least 7s, at that time you look like a crazy guys slashing into air lol:D
My 2H combo, but very high aggro:
HH > Warcry (save) > Astute (cons) > Trigger Slash (cons) > Rampage (Smite) > Any skill (Cons) - 300MP total, High Rampage DMG but lose AMPR from trigger, very high aggro

Yes it increases motion speed, i tried it myself along with other skills. It speeds up rampage animation, so if that's what you mean, then yes.

My rampage final hit has peaked at around 39k crit against ooze, and I use 2h sword. This is the damage without couting all the other 19 hits and I basically 1 shotted or 1 skilled the boss xD. Yeah, rampage has alot of potential if you have c777/c888 elemental swords and know which to use against which boss. Your dps will only be second to op gear snipers who use the same method.

    Thanks for the info!
Does warcry give different speed between skill lvl 1-10? Or is it the same?
Is it worth it to level up warcry or leave it at lvl 1?

I currently have a DW Rampage Build. It Works for me tho. More of a nuker/killer than a spammer.

If you read my post, i siggested it to be used near the end of the battle, swifted or when you dont have aggro. I like Rampage tho. Even swifted Rampage hits harder than Smited Tempest

That's nice.. but after several weeks using DW I start to realize... should we really build DPS while we can't compete with sword-knuckle or Snipe? Why don't we build to secure our Tank and Breaker Rank?

Im already ahead of you on that part. As you can see with my build, it focuses on spamming quick short combos, partnered with high ampr, i can build aggro fast just by spamming a 100mp combo and ensure a breaker rank with it. Revolving around constant Combo Use and Evading and Dodging.

Ive actually got the almost perfect rampage build 1h or 2h - Bt it seems most people have a extreme dislike for using sneak skillo_O. I can literally spam rampage , aoes still a slight prob tho.

Currently testing 2h rampage with 2k aspd - warcry + berzerk blade+masked hat+fw garb. Need dark mush xtal aswell.
Btw Is there any motion speed armour? I haven't found any.

How to calculate aggro @Caskadia formula thanx!:
The sneak skill in particular follows (mp consumption -[skill lv x 100)]. It is the counterpart to provoke.
The other skills I listed follow the formula of (mp consumption + [skill lv x 20]).
Forget the sneak part, I jst copy pasted it.

Also cyp rampage with 1hand seems to be quicker than 2h I think. But really wouldn't recommend rampage with 1h, cos 2h jst does so much more Damage. And rampage builds are only really for DPS anyway.

Nah not really. You total damage of rampage is equal on 1h and 2h.
Since 1h excels.on the micro damage and 2h excels on the macro damage. The only reason 2h damages more is because they build str which increases cdmg, and because most 1h who really use blade skills and not the 1h tkick, build dex.

Yes I'll link the thread for you.
And aggro is based off every skill, not the Combo mp cost.
    Take for example:
    Astute lvl 10 with 2hand:
    MP cost 200
    Skilll lv10x20
    = 400 agro.

Rage sword I think has hate effect that adds more aggro

    what about
Astute -> Trigger Slash Safe) -> TKICK *smith) -> Hard Hit (Cons)
    Will it be 100 Aggro?
    not 100 + 300 + 300 + 100 = 800 Aggro?
People say the longer the combo, the higher the aggro
