Mage Tank

    Peoole have asked me to make a guide on my tank, so here goes nothing •~•

    Weapon: 2nd Ann. Staff V
    (18% Phys Res)
    (+500MP)

    Additional: Circle of Order
    (20% Phys Res)
    (20% Mag Res)
    (10% Light Res)

    Special: Dark Fighter's Bangle
    (+400MP)
    (+25% Aggro)

    > Vs. Neutral:
    BKOD Shield (25% Res)
    Mozto Armor (20% Res)(+2000HP)
    Alternatively, Brigandine gives 25% res.

    > Vs. Dark:
    Coffin Shield (15% Dark Res)
    Twilight Dress (Boss Vers.) (20% Dark Res) (+500MP +500CSpd)

    > Vs. Light:
    Dark General's Shield (30% Aggro)
    Twilight Dress (Boss Vers.) (20% Light Res) (+500MP +500Cspd)

    I always start with the same opening combo no matter what.

    1. Shield Cannon
    2. Guardian (save)
    3. Aegis (Swift) (600-100)
    4. Protection (Swift) (500-100)
    5. Sanctuary (Swift) (400-400)

    This combo can be activated from 14m away. Gives you the first hit to take aggro, usually stuns the boss, gives you time to quickly activate all of your buffs.
    And best of all, because the boss ends up walking you, you literally don't have to move c: You can literally just sit inside your Sanctuary all game spam ing combos.

    This combo is true for any tank, not just mages.

    Different bosses only allow certain combos. So you often have to change it depending on the boss.

    1. Shield Bash
    2. Sanctuary (save)
    3. Magic Javelin (Swift) (400-200)
    4. Assault Attack (cons)
    5. Impact (200-200)

    1. Perfect Defense
    2. Impact (save)
    3. Sanctuary (Swift) (200-200)

    These combos are made to:
    > Stun the boss in perfect rythem
    > Bring you to the boss before Impact so that Impact basically has a range of 6m
    > Refresh Sanctuary often
    > Buy time to refresh Sanctuary

    1. Perfect Defense
    2. Sanctuary (save)
    3. Sneak Attack (Swift)

    There's really not much that a tank can do against Tyrant. Flinching him, tumbling him, or stunning him just makes him harder to kill. So you kinda just have to spam this combo here.

    > Perfect defense heals you
    > Sanctuary defends you and maintains aggro
    > Sneak Attack makes it 1mp and takes away the aggro of the next skill
    > Perfect Defense cancels out Sneak Attack

    Mozto Machina can only be safely tumbled, and only while above 40% hp. He's the hardest boss to break.

    1. Perfect Defense
    2. Impact (save)
    3. Sanctuary (Swift)

    Pretty much all you can do is spam this combo and bring Mozto into a corner to keep your teammates safe. You literally just sit in the corner until he reaches 40% HP.

    Your only other goal, then, is to use Recovery. Recovery is the skill you unlock before Sanctuary, and it removes a status ailment, such as Fear, from a chosen player.
    Locate the player with War Cry in their combo. Use Recovery on them, and they will un-fear everybody else.
