Need help for a tankable dps build.

As for the equipments : Standard mage player craftd equips and stat
Xtals : never use scrader
Additional : Highly suggests cat-ear with s.potum xtal

This is the build i used to solo p.king v.hard and potum raid hard without buffs

 

Guardian will lowered ur dmg if u cast it
So if u cast that, you won't able to be dps, just a tanker

 

Purpose of guardian is for save only.
Guardian lv 1 has 0m aoe which requires other people to virtually hug your char , not just simply by pixels touching , you need to stand on the same ground for you affect other ppl , so even if you spam it in battle , you pretty much wont get dmg reduction.

 

Guardian wont reduce your ATK/MATK if theres no people standing inside the aura (0m at lvl1)

I dont have a shield pure dps because i dont think they function that much better as a pure dps as compare to other mage builds like arrow or dagger mages.

 

Is your build is all around? The staff+shield because looks like it can take all of the ranks hehe

In reality tho , shield mages has the lowest atk/tank/breaker rank capability out of all mage builds unless you invest on provoke but using shield allows them to be tankier on another level.

My build sure can rank hog but well theres an underlying trouble when it comes to survivability which is a common problem for no vit builds , though I think it could be fixed by adding a few points to vit , but i only use my arrow mage as a pure dps and I think its rank hogging capability is only a bonus that has its pros and cons so I would not invest on vit on it , not until later caps.

Combos I use could be seen on the guide.

 

With SirEgg's build, i could technically make it more DPS-ey by not using Quick Draw for now, and focus on Guard Strike and MAtk Up; since Quick Draw requires us to have LV5 Shot Mastery and Lv5 Long Range Mastery first. (20 Skill Points)

 

Well it was only a template build to guide people which core skills to choose but its up to the people on how to invest the remaining extra skill points it has.
Nvm you were refering to the tank build.

 

So should i go with pure dps mage like warmage?

 

Guard strike doesnt do good dmg without high ATK waste of 10 skill point to add on a mage if you ask me.

 

From what I am seeing about guard strike, the hits from when it procs should count towards prorating too. a Passive ability that let's a sitting duck mage prorate sounds good to me. xD

 

For soloing maybe.
In party shield mage wont have enough aggro to let more attacks on it.

 

Well, seeing that a lot of recent PT's i had were either all mages and/or mages+spear users, I don't see it as a negative. :V
