noob has more questions abt mages

Ok so ummmm any build which requires maxing all my first five skills ( which i have already done. Soo.......)also mages are supposed to standback and attack right?. Thats what i do in all battles. But the angelus build is like ahhhhh atttack. So are u supposed to max mp charge or are u supposed to do dps.? Very very very confused. Working towards angelus maxing int and dex. But no idea abt my position. Do i stand back and spam mp charge and and skills or go in and do dps fill my mana then skills. Currently i am doing the first one.i.e mp charge tactics. I am lvl50 and currently using mino staff, aristocrat ring, forest wolf garb, fairy peace,brutal dragon cape thats it. So where must i make changes? Sorry for asking roo many questions but this is better than making a hundred diff posts.

 

Angelus is a tanky (Slightly) Aggro generating build that can take Aggro, and make bosses target you, this kind of makes it a build that makes you go AHHHHH ATTACK, like you said, however, in the end I'd say it's up to you whether you want to spam your skills up close or stay back a bit. If you're in a good party, you'll have a tank to take damage for you, which means you can do whatever you'd like and they'll hold the boss off you, in this case, just go all out on attack. Otherwise, if you're in a party with a bunch of noobs and can't take many hits, I'd try and hang back a bit and regenerate Mana with mp charge. Of course, it can't hurt to do a mix of the two as well, but it's kind of up to what kind of a player you are, as I see it

 

Unfortunately , as oppose to other type of mage builds (dagger & arrow) angelus got the lowest aggro of the three, but yes they do fight in the front lines depending on how you built your combo and nature of some shield skills, but unfortunately you can't be that much tanky if you decide to go int + dex even if you equip shield as sub weapon , not unless you decide to int + vit , however one advantage of shield mages to other type of mages is their ability to properly utilize protection + aegis which is a great way to mitigate some % of the dmg for the whole team and of course their capability to stun which the other two builds can do , so you should take advantage of this whenever you are in a party. Using mp charge is optional during battles , you can mostly avoid this by making 1mp combos instead.

 

i lost count how often i said this, but once again:
MD sub weapon does NOT work with Staff main weapon.

Now since you are still level 50 , just use this opportunity explore the game , get used to it and have fun. Until you've reach 70 this is where your real adventure begins , it be would time for you to remake a new char , but this time your low level char could finally learn tier 4 skills , which is storm for mage, use this to farm bnuts and nisel wood ,dropped by shell masks on nisel mountain, turn them in and level up , keep doing this until you are 50 then it's time for you to transition to nightmare roars ,which then again drops nightmare crystals that is a quest material you can use to level up. Not ruining your build for the second char is key here, I assume youre going shield mage then get the ff.

Any pre-requisite skills should be left behind at lv 5.
These are the skills you should get first while your level is still low.

Oh oops i screwed up. I actually read the guide and currently use kite sheild. The fairy peace is for farming. I got it cuz of a very helpful lvl101guy who teleported me to a random place and helped me get it

See what i understand is i am really greatful abt the fact that i decided to actually post but many ppl might hv questions and not want to post cuz they are noobs like me. So there should be a section completely for beginers like beginers guide to mage or knight or stuff like that. Do we hv something like that?

 

Why do these builds show a staff like the minotaur staff when the devil staff has higher atk?

 

Huh where do u get it is it a drop?
