Pet question

As a low level Mage, which pet is viable for tanking (for solo boss or harder mind etc.)? Is the method of leveling up and maintaining the pet similar to Iruna (as in having to feed certain type of food for certain attribute benefits)? Is there anything that stands out to be most different from Iruna when it comes to pets in Toram?

Lastly, can anyone recommend which secondary skills to start putting some points in (such as in Battle or Support or Speed skills etc )? I figure I'd either go for the Speed skill to help with cast speed. It's not until lvl 70 when the 3rd tier for main weapon skill unlock, so I figure why not spend some points in secondary skills (unless if anyone think I should wait until later levels...).
