Profiency in relation to Tec hybrid?

Ok so I'm building a technique character, I'm wondering if proficiency effects success rate for stating, refining and synth. Or does profiency only apply to crafting equips and potions?

So why does everyone tell me I don't want to get anvils to boost prof on my tech build?

 

because the anvil/bottle skills only increase the max lv cap of your profiency.
they do not raise your profiency lv in any way.
you can get to lv50 without the skill,
then the limit is increased by 5 per skill level.

for a synthesist, you need the 1st bottle to reach 3 locks.
for a smith you only need it when you hit the limit.

 

OK thanks, I assume there's only really the one method to lvl prof? With two two different approaches to get there farm or spend?

 

I didnt suggest anvil skills coz:
As a tech bs your main job is refining, statting and synthing. For synthing theres bottle skills no need for anvil there and for statting, refining you really dont need proficiency at all to do those jobs (You only need full tec itself to refine or to add stats).

You really not gonna craft equipments with it much unless you are ok with low potential weapons (Weapon crafting is better done by main stat bs like full dex rest str or full int, full vit) in which case you can take one of the anvil skills but not more as the proficiency limit increase becomes redundant after a point it doesnt help when you already reached 100% success.

So the sucess rate of refines and stating is solely based on Tec stat and player level in combination with maxing the skills? So when I max my characters Tec and fill the skill tree I can start stating and refining successfuly at 0 profiency?

OK that's a relief from the info I received earlier I thought I was gonna need 100+ bs prof to start stating and refining. So the only thing I need to worry about profiency on with this build would be synth profiency for crafting potions? I've also herd 3 lock requires 100 profiency is that correct or more misinformation? Finally at what level would you suggest reaching before starting to attempt stats or refines obviously cap would be the ideal level but I've herd at level 100 +10 stating is easily attainable? Is that how the character level works in relation to stating
110= +11, 120= +12, 130= +13 140= +14? Lastly does Dex play any role in a pure tec character or is that more for a crafting smith?

Yes 100synth prof for 3locks.
Refines can be done as soon as you reach full tec.
For stats yep flat stats can be added proportional to lvl/10 so +10 for 100 +11 for 110 and so on. Or you can try stats like im7% armor or ascd7% weapons which can be done as soon as full tec as well.
Dex doesnt affect either refining or statting.

 

so basically around character level 100-102 I'll be good to upgrade some gear.If I Remeber correct lvl 100 unlocks teir 3 skills and 102 will have enough stats to max Tec. This is good news as I'm closer than I thought, I've managed to get my second account up to lvl 78 via mob lvling might switch over to mq and push for 100 to start stating and refining gears for my main account. I was going try to wait till closer to 100 to use mq to try for cap but mob lvling is slowing down as my main is starting to struggle on the lvl 75+ mobs.

Thanks again for the clarification, currently lvl 82 with all the skills that are available and 205 Tec capable of +8stats. I also have a much higher synth diff lvl than expected, at 0 prof I was at a high enough diff lvl to successfully craft pretty much every thing in item synthesis. Was able to get to lvl 21prof with a few items and like 4k mat points. At what lvl is 2 lock 100%?
