PVP Plz

I don't care about competing.
I never cared about being ranked nor doing more dmg.
All I care about in pt, is being decent and not sucking...
I'm perfectly OK with second and third place.

PvP on this game = RMT Bait. :V The game is going to have a Pay-To-Win Culture, especially looking at how star gem skills can be bought in the CB. This would in turn, make more demand for spina. More Demand for Spina = more demand for Spina farmers = more botters = increased server load = more connection issues = etc. etc. etc. I could go on, but the gist of it is that an influx of interest for and implementation of PvP would basically eventually collapse Toram as a game community.

 

An example from another *new* game that i never played (is this allowed?)

Endgame is pvp. Veterans dominates newbs. Newbs need money, best way is surprise surprise: FISHING (toram forum title: 'the minigame that save you')

Soo increase money demand blah blah, more people 'adapting' to harsh times, then crashing the whole game together

Npc limited spina like Skyrim when? (Afaik skyrim may be too harsh, perhaps npc limited spina 100k per day?)

Welp, I was just playing that a few moments ago, but i wasn't sure about the endgame besides world boss. Now I'm not sure if I want to keep playing

 

Valid point, but you gotta remember: Toram's classes aren't balanced for pvp to begin with. Case closed.

 

The endgame is less traditional PvP and more PvP raid. You fight in guild wars essentially.

 

The spina in demand point is a valid argument. The question is, how much of an impact would PvP have on that? We don't even have PvP right now and my goal is still to have full 2s gear, don't know about you guys . There are means to make spina besides paying, so those determined enough may pursue them.

Another option would be to do hat ty can only battle somebody in your level range. But if players can already only battle on a specific map through requests that shouldn't he a problem to begin with.

Aaaand about the competitiveness of humans, denying that would mean denying basic biological principles that envelop and determine us and all organic lifeforms, so, yeah. XD

Aaaaand everyone would be sniping again..... Impact snipe from afar won't make a good scene to a melee opponent, no? Unless you could have a high enough dodge/eva/hp more than 200k, sniping is the way to rule PK in Toram.

 

You could of course add penalties, you would have to revamp the DMG system for pvp, for example damage*1/x at the very end. In another mmorpg I once played it was similar, for PvP they had a damage*0,5 multiplier.

Also, crossing the distance is not so difficult, especially as we now have shukuchi If the developers really took the time to implement a well-thought PvP system, this wouldn't pose much of a problem for Toram besides the possibility of WindSlashs' argument.

 

That, or I casually use Phantom to literally tank your Snipe because invincibility.

Perhaps you should read evolutionary theory, it is pretty enlightening

Edit: Also, earth will survive this. It may take millions of years and humans might destroy themselves, but the earth's ecosystem will recover over periods of time that may seem long to us but are nothing in face of the universe's infinity.

Edit: Sorry if I sound rude or arrogant, but I cannot stand the denial of evolutionary theory, of which competitiveness is the most important principle.

Concerning your thoughts, I think the central problem is humanity's unawareness or misconception regarding the collectiveness of every single action taken by a human. Everybody thinks "Throwing trash on the street this one time doesn't change anything" or "me becoming a vegetarian doesn't have an impact" (meat production is the main cause for climate change) - and I am no exception. But I am in the process of changing these thought patterns for myself or at least more aware or planning to change them. And also, this is no illness, its only natural. Humans were designed to only care for the things in psychological vicinity, so why care for an event (extinction of the human species among many others) that takes place in the far future? Only through reflection may we realize these dangers. Unfortunately, some people seem to rather care for the economy than the environment. They think it's not their responsibility or there has to be another way; both thoughts of convenience.
