Hello! Been away from Toram for a long time but planning on coming back. Used to play 1h sword+shield DPS war but I'm guessing they're not wanted these days.
Aside from lvling up to cap as quickly as possible, I was wondering if there are any tips for starters that I should know like:
1- Which skills to get first? (Gonna go for halberd+dagger build).
2- Which combos to use early game?

Looking forward to your replies. Thank you. =)

Mcw arrow halberd build, might give you some different ideas

Haroshi Halberd-Dagger Punish Ray, very interesting as well and I recommend this build the most

Rat's Halberd-Dagger Crit relying build; interesting as well

Arewzo Halberd-Arrow with Punish Ray, like Haroshi's build but with arrow

    Then my own suggestions :D

Most ppl took Strike Stab as their main dps skill, so I'll go in depth about builds revolving around it.
Strike Stab = Low chance to crit (like -25% crate as snipe had...Not confirmed though) needs an ailment infliction on the boss to hit hard

    Arrow vs Dagger
Arrow: Smoke Dust 5mp for save tag, but low chance to inflict ailment
Dagger: Has the skill Gatling Knife which can deal around 100k+++ damage easy; has a bunch of skills capable of inflicting ailments, but no 5mp save (though Strike stab is only 2mp so you can manage fairly well anyway)

    Crate vs Punish Ray
Punish Ray: Helps with magic proration, since its a magic skill; it does have a cast time of 0.8 sec if for cpsd 1.1k recommended is Cat Ear Hood +Choco Ooze/ Seltirio / Sunlight Potum (Choco ooze for most cpsd and +200mp at the cost of -9%hp)
Crate: No cast time; but either you have to go the crit stat for crate % to be worth it or not; if you don't do that you'll have higher base atk cuz of agi; but lower crate then if you go the crit stat

Thats basically it...You have some builds that revolve around Gatling Knife (dagger skill tree) and Snipe (arrow/archer skill tree ) as well, but these are not the ones the majority uses; if you want to know about them you can pm me ;) Cuz this post is becoming so long its almost a build in itself lol (and I'm tired) :p I hope this information will be helpful for you:)

EDIT: Please note that you have a 4mp skill on the Halberd skill as well; dive impact, which you could use for a save tag (or dps)

PS: you still have a sword +shield build out there; its from @KuroBe01 and pretty OP in my opinion

Thank you so much for the awesome and detailed reply! :)
Wow, I'm gonna go through each of the guides to fully understand the class and which path to take that would best suit my play style and would be more fun for me.

After that, I'll start playing and see how Halberd goes for me. If not then I guess its back to the 1h war for me.
Thanks again for the info you gave me. =)

It is an interesting class, I'm trying some other set ups to see what I can come up with. Trial and error. Hopefully not too much error.
