Rip crit halberd?

So, before lv4 skills came out I was offered a good deal (I thought) on a 238+s 2 slot full crit+14 halberd for 3.9M; all my spinas at the time hehe.. I was stoked.
Then lv4 halberd skills came out..I've discovered with dragon tooth crit rate stats not needed, the preference now just attack and crit damage. I'm only still lv125ish but this new revelation has made me feel defeated in the future. Could I even sell the halberd I bought now since everyone eschewing full crit stats to favor the almighty dragon tooth?? It's a major setback for me..unsure if being a crit halberd build viable anymore.
I'm not trying to complain much just wondering what peoples thoughts on the matter now. Guess I'll be grinding for eternity to make those spina lol..peace

 

It depends. Dragon Tooth is not the be-all-end-all skill as it's very costly in MP, making it not as spammable as Strike Stab (which has a 13.53 multiplier on full STR Halberd with ailment boost BTW); it only really shines against high DEF bosses. Crit equips might be desirable for people who want to run both skills (and possibly Dive Impact to reduce the graze).

Strike stab is an amazing skill. On 1hs I can deal 105k*3, without crit D gear. I've also made a Halb again, as I like the animation on dragon tooth. One thing I've noticed is that the damage doesn't scale with stat's that well. So it's heavily reliant on new equipment as the sole strategy.

 

Granted... why not just have invested in Punish Ray and critical gears instead of loading up on CRT stat ._.

 

he has no CRT stats... what he meant is the crit rate stats on his halberd become useless since he could go for full damage instead

 

Someone said in the forum that strike stabs is better than d.tooth 7/10 of the times. Hell s.stab has low mp cost so why not double smite

Pray has cast time >1sec without cast time equip even if u putt all stat str then agi. And you need to get close to boss to unleash sstab. Rather than doing that, why not just spam dt from afar? Thats my opinion though.

 

Maybe elemental halb with cd will be feasible... I dont know wheter we can make it or not though.

 

Aggro & MP probs

 

Aggro? All t4 main dps skill has mp cost around 5~16. Why worry about it. Just use sneak attack.
Mp? Thats the problem of halb since ancient time for long run. Just use quick draw, gsw+power wave(its risky), war cry of struggle, etc etc.

 

MP is NOT a problem if the boss dies before you completely run out of MP. For healing outside battle theres stuff like mp charge/maximizer.
If the boss is taking too long or long run in general that means boss is tanky so dragon tooth is better anyway.
Strike stab is really not necessary to take anymore not even for auto attacking as theres meikyo for it. RIP critical equip imo

 

Game over for me lol. Work too much irl and probably cant sell my full crit halberd and even afford the attack/strength/cd 7% +s with 2 slot. No wonder I got such a good deal hehe.. Thank you all for the feedback.

 

Dude honestly, I have dual Strike Stab + Dragon Tooth style now and Im currently on research to find out if I should remove strike stab or not. Strike Stab has low dmg consistency in my opinion. I may be wrong on this, thats why I still take more time to reconsider using the book or not, coz with dragtooth and other skills + meikyo I dont even need too much crit and can focus on cdmg.

 

No crit rate i think, like Atk7% Str7% cdmg7% or cdmg15

Thats the point of his question... he was asking if its better to throw SS away and going full on DT

 

With meikyo and crit equips not really.
The problem is at the inconsistent dmg in my case, not the crit rate of build.

 

Dt is better. Because it already has high crit rate. You don't need crit equipments. You can use all dps equipments and stats from now on. In weapon use a7cd7cd15 or a7s7cd7. In armour better use s7cd7cd15. Tyrant mask with bapho and guignol and dk amulet or musvle talisman with guignol and lalvada.
