Scammed on the opposite end of Gem run?

    A friend of mine in-game told me how he had used an ulti gem with a party, and though they agreed to paying half before the run and half after, once the buyers got want they wanted, they tp'd and stiffed my friend of the other half of his payment. Shouldn't this also be on the list of scammers since they too failed to deliver on their agreement and straight up stole half of said friend's money.
