Shellbreak or QuickDraw for Mage?

    Hai hai! Lvl 96 Mage here asking for advice. Which skill works best for Mage? If it's shellbreak, where should I place it in a combo? I saved up 25 skill points for this xD. Also, since i am 14 levels away from max, which skill would you guys recommend?

    Hahaha! I mp charge a lot and I always die because of that lol. I thought that if I have a mp recovering skill, it could lessen the times I need to mp charge in a match. :D

    If thats the case u can have 1k mp like me and get quick draw so that you never run out in a single battle.
    Shell break is overrated u can not expect it to heal with all the fu spammers.
    Besides u will have to go near the boss to use it when all magic atks are long range.

    I gotta farm mp xtals then. So shellbreak's mp heal only works by chance?

    Its got very low chance to activate like 10% without knux.
    And with all the fu spammers in the party it will be worse coz of the cooldown time.

    Oh and I always go near the boss cuz my combo starts with holy fist xD

    quickdraw.
    bec long range mastery boost your magic dmg if your playstyle is firing arrow and storm from long range ^^

    Cooldown means if a fu user (who also uses shell break) gets guard break before you can not get guard break again immediately.
    The boss will get resistance to it for a set amount of time.

    So shellbreak would automatically heal mp when it inflicts guard break which has a very low chance of happening :eek:

    Don't , long range mastery doesn't affect magic skills. (Personally tested this a few minutes ago just to be sure)
    Magic skills ,aside from impact, arent affected by range related dmg bonuses.

    i actually dont use either on my mage since mp charge is fairly quick but if i had to choose prolly quick draw since it activates with more options while shell break only activates when u use shell break successfully. i use shell break on my tank though :)

    If full mage id say neither because u can definitely use those points somewhere else but if staff fu then shellbreak 100%

    rather use skill pt elsewhere than on a mage.

    Actually depends on play style and build...
    If you're just a cannon and shoot from far, you dun need either. MP Charge will be fine
    If you're kinda a hybrid and go close, take both (just using holy fist isn't a good enough reason for this option, since it doesn't do much for you other than making your combo 1mp. heavy storm>mp charge will negate your need for a 1mp combo)
    You should note that storms dun stack, when u start casting a new one the old one gets cut off. so it's pointless spamming quick 1mps.

    note: Shell break proc is abt 20% at level 10, and proc rate not affected by knuckles (according to jap wiki), there are also other theories floating around the forums on proc rates. Its hard to say which is definitive. if you are really keen you might wanna test it on a new char to see if u like the rates before u commit.

    If you're a dagger mage does quickdraw help? especially if your frequently using long combo?

    i use shellbrake and work good but you must add another fu skill in your combo
