Nooooo, big no daddy rex..
I really enjoying using this mage build xD

 

and hit only 2 enemies for the same damage as magic arrows.
with blast you can hit 5+ enemies for double damage and it even costs 1mp less

 

the purpose of jave is only to target single enemy.. at least for know, no point have another aoe attack beside storm.

mp cost can be chg by combo tho.
with appropriate combo placed, we can unleashed twice jave with 3 mp cost (1 smite. impact. 1 normal) in an acceptable short time(more or less its similar to blast casting time)
while blast smite already take 3 mp cost as well. and the damage is slightly lower than 2 javs.
btw. i wanna see how do you use blast in your ninja mage tho. can i?

 

Discovery build

 

i use it either with slow or chain cast.
storm is strong because it hits 6 times, but it always leaves many leftovers if it can't kill in 1-2 hits. blast hits like 2-3 storm hits, so it's a clean one-shot on everything that storm can't kill
i used it on marionettes and now i use it on nightmare roar.
never get poisoned - never die
(seriously at least 1 pt member always dies)

 

When u use arrow rain, it actually looks like meteor

 

ooooh Paralyze shot looks like thunder bolt (mage skill from ragnarok) lol

 

I hope blast lv 10 is instant skill

so did you use your blast after storm?
thats even slower than casting it after arrow.. in term of dps.. its a no from me..
for aoe, even wall deal far more damage than blast...
idk if you still experienced lv 70 cap where the only dps mage skill is wall..(not blast).

 

why would i use blast after storm? it's the skill before storm and storm was totally useless below Lv8 considering the huge cost.
it couldn't hold a candle to my blast.

that is if you can land all hits. usually you either can't or it hits new targets and when the spell ends you get attacked from all sides.

i heard lots of sing and praise about blast when i started the game.
in fact i was pitied for being stuck will wall

 

blast before storm?
same as blast after storm... low damage, slow casting time.. means low dps. thats why it was less useful in its era... idk when did u hear blast is being praised for dps skill. It was useful for 1 hit kill bitter nut combo only.. T.T i remember @Ergeruz use d.

or can u do video in using blast? just wanna see its effectiveness tho. (i wont mind your stat, i just want to see the potential in using blast.)


i can land all hit with wall if we re talking about nightmare roar, marionete or any farming pt...
during bosses. it depends(combo shud adapt to battle situation)... if its moving bosses, ofc i wont use wall, use arrow instead.. with jave in between... yet storm is still the main dps skill. and still idk when shud i put blast....
while impact storm charge is a big no. its like wasting 3s for casting arrow and storm again..

 

roga and pillow golem always escape from storm, so it's 4mp for 6k+ damage or 3mp for for 15k+ damage.
same with astol, and here it also kills the small birds.
i don't see blast as an attacker spell, but as a breaker spell. it's like javelin in a large area and with extra damage. even with 3s cast time it's more cost effective than javelin.

 

What's ur matk for that 15k blast? I wanna compare it with impact's damage =).

At volg normal, a full prorated, smited, non elemental storm with 930 matk dealt close to 60k, somewhere between 55 000 to 60 000 with staff.
(close to 10k per tick)
A full prorated, smited non elemental impact with the 930 matk dealt 18-20k with magic device.
Magic arrows could do 12k with staff at level 10 at 930 matk. not fully prorated (2k per hit for 6 hits)

 

hm... i remember farming stone mercenary once, being the only magic user there. my strongest storm then was 9-10k per hit, so roughly 57k.
my strongest blast, with the same set-up, was 29k. (and i got a staus ailment too lucky~)
that was with a staff, which has +50% on blast and +100% on storm.
with MD the difference between blast and storm is smaller.
i estimste the proc rate for status effects on blast and javelin to 50%.
but MD gets 75% on javelin, but no damage or size bonus.

 

Seems like blast can deal more damage than impact....

now you are comparing apples with pears.
impact never was a strong attack spell, it's an utility skill for tumble and mp cost reduction.
MDs got the 250% damage bonus because staffs got 100% on storm.
