STAFF+DAGGER MAGE BUILD by PRADAXA :)

theres always other way to cast arrow with storm and do proration w dagger in between. (its not by following all the same orthodox combo in forum)
im also a dagger user just like you.
its just the when i see a mage after cast storm doing mp charge is a waste of time.
and doing dagger to do proration also nice yet it can be more effective if you put arrow and start the combo again. the damage will be added on top of your smited prorated storm.
you know how many sec storm last. and what if you cast arrow during that time when storm happens til the storm hit the 5th hit and do your combo again.

 

Sonic wave is cool. I like it too. But my build is a coward one and doesnt want any skill that can trigger boss GUARD. i just dont want to be called DUMB by my party members by accidentally causing tumble/flinched. I am so coward i would rather stay invisible. Lol.

 

It would be nice if you share what is in your mind so I can better improve this guide. Please share your combo with magic arrow. Thank you very much.

 

Ok. I already asked mak0i about this and he answered in the negative but...
I sometimes use spike dagger>impact(save)>storm(smite)>t.knife(consec) for a 1mp combo, hitting with autos in between. Yeah it's not as damaging but i very rarely need to use mp charge with this and it's quick enough to finish. Thoughts? I trust mak0i's opinion but it's always good to get other opinions too.

 

This is a nice combo too with lower damage. But as what master Makoi said on one of this thread he doesnt suggest or recommend mages using 1mp combo since we can mp recharge fast enough. Im offering you a 3mp cost combo. Just enough for 1 mp recharge. Your combo is great too..

 

Yeah. I was the one he was talking to. Lol. True though. So i guess ill have to scrap this one. Thanks for the combo. It's really gonna help out.

i mixed combo and manual cast for that.
mage play style shouldnt be bounded by any combo(imo). every boss might required diff combo tho.
e.g :
spike dart- tknife - impact(consec) - storm (smite) - holy fist( consec)
this combo is fast for sure. after the combo done, what will you do? stand there, norm hit, spamming tknife or mp charging?
or cast arrow in between just before you cast that combo again. my style is to cast arrow
so total mp is 3+1.
do it repetitively while you still have your mp.
here will comes the useful of quickdraw/large mp pool/high ampr for your mp management.

 

Wow very nice. I like the idea. It is somewhat like my 3mp combo its just i dont have max t.knife atm. All this time i thought you are telling me to put arrow in my combo. Lol. My bad.

Just what me and @Precaria do after casting a combo, we do proration and autoattack mp recovery by using powerwave. Waiting time for storm to finish is not that long.

But what you do is quite remarkable using arrows in between. That's clever. I only have 800mp atm. And I dont have the luxury of spamming arrows just like that. every bit of mp recovery is vital for me.

Nurethoth moves across the map wasting storm ticks, a mage vs. mage battle isn't balanced there. DG is best for the purpose because as it doesn't move, it allows you to get a more realistic result.

 

Can a lvl81 mage with newb equips beat a legend like u?

 

Just deduct around 50k from his total damage and you have a chance.

 

Make it 100k

 

theres also other variation for mage combo depends on the situation (e.g : short run or long run, less moving bosses or agile bosses.). i cant reveal all the tricks..

due to nightmare/ultimate mode. mp management of a mage is crucial instead of achieving ultra high dmg storm but doing mp charge twice.

a good mage can adapt to all kind of situation despite any kind of bosses.

 

How many times have i done combo>mp charge>boss sees me standing still for about 2secs>stares me down>skills me>boom mage dead.. It's why im desperate for a 1 or 2 mp combo. So i wont have to charge in a fight...
