Staff tank

I’m planning to make a staff tank and i need some guide/opinion. Like:

What are its advantage and disadvantages?
Does it can hold aggro like other tank build?
What skills are necessary, and what is the stats distribution.

You can use staff + tank even without aggro gears by just solely relying on provoke + mp charge.
Though if your intention is to attack at the same time , then you can rely on aggo gears such as the imitator shield + dark knight bangle.
But still theres a possibility that you'll lose aggro against heavy spaming classes such as arrow mages and 2h.

 

You might want to get bless since it's great for staff users and makes a great survival skill all around.

 

Not really , if you want better survivability support skills then recovery + mini heal.
You can also heal with pdef if you decide to take it to lv10.
Bless heal ticks takes like more than 30s just to heal a 1.5k-2k amount which is really long and unreliable.

Is there a way to hold aggro against spammers?

 

Get guardian lv10 and make sure they spam inside the aoe

Do you plan to make pure tank or semi dps?
If pure tank pdef is best no question bless can be good only if you wanna go full INT route with more matk and less hp technically a semi support+tank than a full tank. You can also try 220CRT rest VIT like I did to be able to attack without missing and to utilize ampr.

 

Does 220 crt and vit was for pure tank? cos im planning to make that.

Yep its a pure tank
I got 12-15k HP depending on my equipment which is high enough for me never felt like I needed more.
A good combo can be:-
Shield bash/Sonic wave + war cry(save) + impact(cons) + sanctuary(swift) + holy fist(swift)
Remove holy fist and switch sanc with guardian to make a 2nd combo.
Provoke and pdef on shortcuts handy to generate aggro or block.

You can balance your offense and defense by spending your stat points on INT and VIT. You could do the same thing with the other two, but mages are really good at it.

 

Thanksss. However I was planning on making a pure tank. Is it better to go semi dps?

 

A pure tank would be easier to use when tanking, but a semi tank might end up being more useful. The only time you'll need a full tank would be when you're fighting a really tough boss like mini bosses or event bosses.
